An amazing place for coffee, brunch or desserts. The people who run the store are very polite and friendly and most definitely make you feel welcome. The food is well prepared with fresh ingredients and good portions. The value for money is high as for Edinburgh standards , and especially Morgningside , is hard to find anything in this range with this quality. Strongly recommended!

Enjoyed tasty toasty drinks & cake in the Word of Mouth cafe in Morningside on a very wet Saturday last weekend. Great atmosphere and very flavoursome cake/drinks. Outstanding cafe, highly recommend.

The breakfast was grand, super nice service. Hosts are working very hard to make you feel welcome (and even speak a little bit of Dutch 😉). Acoustically, a curtain would already help against the reverberating sound of the pleasant audience...

The food is amazing, we often go there for breakfast when my mum visits. We find the staff very friendly and attentive, the food is always delicious and my mum says they do a great cup of coffee!

Really tasty breakfast, amazing coffee and very warm and friendly service. The full Scottish breakfast was delicious and good value for money! Everything on the plate was fresh and perfectly cooked. We couldn’t get enough of the coffee, really nice beans which made for a perfect flat white. 👌 We’ve already been back here for another breakfast!

Food and coffee here are excellent - I’ve tried both the croque madame and steak sandwich - and to me it’s the best croque in Edinburgh, oregano adding a nice Greek twist.
As well as generous portions, the owners are nice and the interior comfortable/stylish. These people care about quality food and service. What are you waiting for - go!

Absolutely lovely food in this nice little cafe. Service was great and the owner was friendly and nice to talk to. The coffee was great as well and we hope we can go back soon to try their other dishes some day.
