Yet again the compass didn't disappoint really good food and prices along with the service extremely nice staff and again will definitely be back

We visited here several times during our mini break to Edinburgh and we noted that the staff were AMAZING every single time. Super happy, funny and kind! The food was yummy and we always left feeling really happy. Special shoutout for the cheesecake... A MUST TRY lol

Great service, decent food, good selection, cocktails available. Available on a Saturday night when all others in the nearby area were full. Only £50 for two people all inclusive.

My mom and I are travelling from South Africa, and we had no idea where to eat. We found the Compass, walked in, and we were greeted with smiles and great music.
First time eating Haggis - it was FANTASTIC. The food was incredible, and the staff are friendly and communicative.
Thank you to the Compass Team for making our first evening in Scotland one to remember.
15/10 would recommend!

We all went in there Tue 10/9/23 & for me the taste of their coffee gets a 10/10.
It tasted like the smell of a cigar which might not be to everyone's taste.
What u don't like was lettuce 🥬 they serve up - it's the kind that can stick in one's throat - best lettuce, is iceberg.
I will return to try their curries 'cos those of our relatives said that the curries tasted really nice.
Here r 2 pictures of the lettuce & one of the blackberry & apple pie? but saw no green 🍏🍏 in it.

An exceptionally good restaurant with a large variety of choice in food at reasonable prices- a mushroom pie with mash potato and veggies cost less than Ł10. Three of us had very different dishes, each of which was really delicious. You definitely get great value for price here. The atmosphere of the restaurant, both inside and outside, is friendly and homely as well, with furniture and decoration looking modern but very warm with natural colours. I especially liked the vegetarian menu, the free jug of water and the plants outside.

We had a pleasant meal here, the staff were very friendly, with plenty of room, even around the pool table area. Good background music.

The food is good pub food. It has an excellent vegetarian and vegan menu as well as a really good value kids menu. The staff are all so friendly. The place is dog friendly which is a bonus. Pool table is a great hit and they look like they do a lot of charity work too. I really like this family friendly restaurant.

Food is wonderful, The waiters were very nice. I left something here and they helped to save it and let me get it back.
There was a question and answer game with the hosts during dinner time that night (I don't know if it's only for special days?) There was a great atmosphere and it was fun.
