Reserved a table for 2 (dinner) and arrived to find the restaurant at 60% capacity. Friendly greeting and promptly shown to our table. Starters and mains all arrived quickly and well presented. Wine list was good and the lamb superb. 4 star experience because we both felt that it lacked atmosphere, service was accurate but sterile. The final touch of magic is missing.

Lovely food and great service. Recommend for good food, however there were not many people there when we came.

THE GOOD:
Good food
Good service
THE NOT SO GOOD:
Wine list could be more extensive
Lack of sauce with Pork Belly
We finally made our way here for dinner and it did not disappoint, even with a very loud table next to us but that is par for the course when eating out. Nothing to fault the restaurant with.
We ordered a couple of starters which were very tasty We ordered the prawn cocktail and the grilled camembert. For our mains we ordered the pork belly which was very tasty. If being critical, I would say perhaps some sauce with the belly would be nice, but don't get me wrong the belly was very tasty and a decent portion. Also perhaps a few more vegetables thrown on the plate would be nice.
The service was very friendly and can not be faulted. My comment regarding the wine list is more a personal thing, would e nice perhaps for more reasonable priced wines, But the wine we ordered at the reasonable end was delicious not a decent price. If those with deeper pockets, there is some great choices though.
Overall, I would highly recommend eating here.

My wife and I dined with two others on a Saturday evening. Despite our companions booking the wrong time, the restaurant fixed it and accommodated us with no fuss. I particularly enjoyed the pork belly and the excellent crackling, but every part was top notch and beautifully presented. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. A very pleasant experience.

Our party of six had a fantastic meal last Sunday at this recently opened restaurant. The décor is sharp and modern, the staff attentive but all of that was surpassed by the quality of the food. Hats off to the Chef they have hired who delivered to a very high standard. The homemade rolls with Marmite butter was a winning combination I have not tried before; the Salt Pig pork burger was generous and delicious and the several times cooked chips were crispy on the outside and probably the best I have tried anywhere. I topped my lunch off with a very smartly presented lemon tart with a raspberry sorbet. Tip – do try the pork crackling with apple jam with your aperitif; it is very moreish and unlike others I have tried elsewhere, won’t break your teeth!

We have the best lunch last Saturday! The food was immaculate (both presentation and taste) - everything from the sausage rolls to the crumble! The interior is lovely, with sunlight streaming across all two floors of dining. No nonsense staff and a thoughtful wine menu. Can't wait to come back!

Having waited with bated breath for the opening of the new Salt Pig restaurant in Dorking we had the pleasure of spending a glorious few hours there this Saturday.
The staff were extremely welcoming (especially Amber) and the service was excellent. They were happy to help explain dishes on the menu in more detail and give recommendations for food and wine pairings.
It is clear to see that the owners of this new restaurant have put a huge amount of time and effort into making sure the atmosphere is welcoming and stylish at the same time. The same applies to the menu which has a variety of dishes to suit all tastes. We were lucky enough to be able to sample a good few dishes and none disappointed. The Mac ‘n’ cheese a perfect side dish to the fish and chips and burger sure did add a little decadence to a Saturday lunch.
Many restaurants claim to have locally sourced and homemade produce on their menu but the Salt Pig really does. We were lucky enough to meet Chef Denis who sure is a talent. The steaming and crispy sourdough rolls are worth a trip on their own but add to this the homemade brioche, Welsh rarebit and puds - perfection.
We will definitely be regulars at the Salt Pig!

Fantastic restaurant, the food is truly exceptional. I had the croquettes, Welsh rarebit, the parfait and the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Really nice atmosphere and the decor throughout was beautiful. The staff were very personable and I will most certainly be back very soon to try the rest of the menu!

Wow - this restaurant is an absolute must and very much needed in Dorking! My husband and I both had the salt pig pork burger which was exceptional(!) with a side of mac and cheese. He had the lemon tart and I pear and apple crumble with cinnamon I cream which was absolutely delicious! Service was impeccable and lovely to have friendly service with a smile. We can’t wait to go back. Thank you for a lovely evening!

A brand new restaurant in Dorking. As of writing this it was day 2 of their opening. The food was very nice and the starters are on their way to match Sorrel, a Michelin Star chef just down the road. Once they work through a few teething problems I am sure this will be 5 stars. I will certainly be going back.
