Harvester Didcot

Had a fabulous time there were only a few tables booked so we had our waitress Roli's undivided attention. She was fantastic nothing was too much trouble. My sister and niece had the 1983 Harvester combo, I had Scampi and my Mum had the smoked barbecue belly pork. Mum didnt want the mash potato and veg that comes with it. Online it states you can have a jacket potato and sour cream but the menu in house doesn't have sour cream so that was fine for an extra 49p. We also had the garlic ciabatta dough balls on the side. I wasnt too keen on them so we took them home for my nephew! We also ordered 2 of the classic burgers to takeaway for 2 members of the family that couldn't make it. And because we couldn't be bothered to have to cook them something when we got home!!! We couldn't have any of the refillable drinks because they had run out of the gas needed for them. So we had to have bottled drinks that was fine and my r whites cloudy lemonade was lush xxx was really disappointed with the pudding ordered the deep filled apple pie with custard or ice cream I asked for both and was an extra 49p to do that. When it turned up the apple pie thing was cold and wasnt really an apple pie it was more like a frangipane tart. Which I hate I dont like that marzipan taste urghhh. I queried it with another waitress and she said yes that's what it always is but it isn't as per the menu description. I only had it because my mum had it before and it was a proper Apple pie not that imposter we got. So lose a star for that I'm afraid. Mum had the treacle sponge and she said it was lush my niece had the blackcurrant mousse she said it was nice but she said I wouldn't like it because of the pips. And we all had coffee to finish. All in all another successful trip to Harvesters xxx Breakfast 10/6/22 Harvester have a new breakfast menu so we wanted to try it out, they have loads more different types of waffles and pancakes and fruit and would you believe steak and eggs. The tea, coffee and toast is unlimited now, Which we had to try, I have to say I was a bit freaked out having steak at 10AM but it was really nice, we had eggs, steak and hash browns. Although it was cooked perfectly I have to say I think I would stick to the normal English type breakfast as it was too much. In fact we all took 1/2 of the steaks home and had them for tea in a toasted cheese sarnie, so it was the breakfast that kept on giving!!! My niece had the ultimate breakfast waffle, she said it was very nice but a bit dry. The sausages are mahoosive. Lisa was our waitress and she looked after us superbly. The breakfast menu is so much more varied now there is literally something for everyone. It was pretty popular too. Another successful trip cant wait to go again and try something else.

We went to this place on a Sunday morning for breakfast, food was good quality especially for the price. My grandma has a wheat intolerance and finds it hard to find food she can eat but the waitress was amazing at making sure everything was safe for her and really made sure she was comfortable which we were extremely greatful for!

My very first visit here and I was not disappointed. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. In my group we had someone with a severe peanut allergy. Without being prompted we were asked about any allergies as we ordered. We were shown the ingredients of the food they had ordered to make sure it was still suitable. Amazing service and we will definitely be returning. Great value for money too.

Popped in for a quick lunch. I had the battered mushrooms and the scampi and chips. The food was served quickly and hot. It was ok. The thing that made my visit were the excellent waiting staff. Polite and friendly, really lovely. Four stars only because the food was just ok. Great waiting staff though.

Had an early dinner here today, my family and I were really, really impressed with how friendly the staff were; the hostess and our waitress were both very hospitable. Forgive me but I can't remember their names! I had the salmon and dill fishcakes which were great, rest of table had fish and chips, as well as "the blue" burger, both of which I'm told were great. Thanks again, great experience

Great value , high quality food. despite it being a chain it had a feeling of individuality created by the wonderful staff. A few of the dishes came out not to order , but this was resolved quickly and with a smile would definitely recommend the triple combo and the unlimited salad bar is definitely a bonus. would recommend to anyone wanting a nice evening out .

Really nice Vegan breakfast, and incredible service. Our server was so polite, professional, and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble, give that girl a pay rise and a promotion! The only thing that let's this place down is the cleanliness in general, the floors are really dirty. Especially the stairs to the toilets, there was a vomit stain on the middle landing. Thus is obviously a management issue!

Friends of ours booked for us to go for breakfast with Santa. Honestly, that part of it was not great. The staff were amazing and the resident elf was super, but Santa was obviously too busy to make it and his stand in didn't fool the kids. (Two of them actually refused to go near him). But the breakfast was actually pretty good! Very good value for what you get. I had the veggie breakfast and it was freshly cooked and very tasty. My one complaint was the baked beans- they were cold and not very nice. You get free refills of tea and coffee with your breakfast for an extra 99p. The kids' breakfasts were good value and they enjoyed them. On the whole, we had a lovely breakfast. We were in great company, (doesn't matter where you are if you are with friends), the food was good and it was pretty inexpensive...£3.99 for a kids breakfast, £6.99 for an adult (my friends paid extra for steak, ~£3 I think). Its a Harvester. Obviously, if you were going for a special occasion you might not choose here, but as a spontaneous weekend breakfast, it was really very good.
