Dolce Restaurant

Wow! We were looking for something new and found Dolce on a recommendation from a friend. It was outstanding! Great service (Megan was fantastic) and everything was cooked perfectly. Great wine list too. We started with the Brussels Sprouts (sorry, no picture). My wife had the Seafood Paella and I had the Chicken Scarpiello. Finished it off with the Key Lime dessert special and Raspberry Sorbet. We are lucky to live near NYC where the restaurants have to be good to stay in business. Dolce was that good - truly an experience not to be missed.

Upscale restaurant Danbury locals told us to choose when we inquired where we should dine in the area. This is when, again, half stars would be helpful for GM reviews. Dolce is 4.5 - 4.7. We were lucky on a late Monday night to have our choice of seating in the main dining room along with very attentive service, as they are crowded on popular nights and the atmosphere is different. Warm and spacious interior that mixes old and new design. The Dolce logo branded on the wood tables is a nice touch. Special menu items consisted of dishes a patron could only say yes to. From this, we ordered the Oysters Rockefeller. A different interpretation from the classic style, but still tasty with the creamed spinach dressing. Our two entrées from the main menu, Veal Milanese with arugula and Shrimp and Scallops on lemon risotto were both very good. A fine dessert menu tempted my partner into ordering his favorite Créme Brûlée. This with a Dolce coffee, sent us happily out the door.

❤ABSOLUTELY LOVE DOLCE! Food was so delicious (as you can see from my photos). My family and I had such a great time. The waiters and waitresses were so caring and attentive. The food tasted fresh, perfectly seasoned and was cooked to perfection. My mother is an incredible cook, and she always makes Italian, (because we are Italian- DUH 😅) and we all felt that the food was something similar to what you would get as a home cooked meal!!! We will definitely be returning soon!!! Thank you for such a great night!

Food was ok. The quality is about what you might expect from a pizzeria. However, I was a little surprised at the seemingly small portion sizes. I ordered a Chicken Parmesan entree for takeaway and it barely filled half the tray. The look of it left me feeling the way you do when opening a bag of chips, only to find that the contents actually fill only about 1/3 of the bag... Mildly disappointed.

I ate here recently at a company dinner. The eggplant Florentine was very tasty, the eggplant was not mushy and all together was very flavorful. The spaghetti served on the side was a bit more basic than I would expect from an Italian restaurant but not bad. There is a lot of parking, the servers were attentive, and there was a nice atmosphere about the place. We were sitting on the enclosed front porch area and there is a nice fireplace. I would go back to try out the full menu.

Can't wait to return! My good friend and I each drive one hour + to meet up at Dolce Restaurant and it seems to be better and better every time. Crab cakes are excellent and I love the traditional Caesar salad. It isn't drowning in dressing as can often be the case in many restaurants. The dressing is freshly made and flavorful. But, Rocco, our server is always a highlight of our experience. He is attentive, professional, and absolutely charming. He prepared our cappuccinos himself. What a special treat! Thanks for your patience and for not making us feel the least bit rushed.

Went for lunch@1:00. They have indoor and a screened in outdoor. We sat in the out door. Very comfortable. The menu was sweet and short, with some specials. My guest ordered the soft shell crab as a meal, definitely big enough. I had a chix, spicy sausage and ravioli combination, that was fantastic!! The food was great, service was delightful, and friendly. Great atmosphere!! Definitely will try for dinner next time.
