Mamasan

Came here with the family for lunch on a Saturday. Got here not too long after they opened. The staff was super sweet and helpful. My daughter wanted salmon until she found out it was raw. But the sweet cashier let her try a sample to see if she was ready to broaden her horizons. Alas, she wasn’t so we ordered the #11 beef skirt steak for both our girls to share. I absolutely loved this dish. I ended up just serving my girls (7 and 5) some of the steak, jicama and watermelon radish. I ended up eating the rest as a salad which was absolutely delicious. I ordered the yellowfin bowl but did not like it as much as the ahi tuna bowl my husband ordered. However, I think that was just personal preference for flavor. Both bowls tasted fresh and flavorful. We also ordered the fried greens to share. They were great and would be a must have on return. There were no fountain drinks, but they did have a yummy selection of teas along with lemonade and bottled drinks. Atmosphere was modern but comfortable. There’s a great patio and even a place to “park your pooch”. Overall, it was a great experience and we would come back.

Although Mamasan is the "House of Poké", I would recommend trying one of their cooked items. I look forward to coming back for their Chicken Karaage and a shared option. FOOD: The Ahi Tuna Bowl was underwhelming, with excessive greens mixed in. Although you may be able to customize your bowl, the current menu does not easily facilitate this. AMBIANCE: I love the outdoors area and ample parking is provided. Hawaiian non- and alcoholic drinks are offered.

I recently got the ahi tuna bowl. The tuna was high quality and had a good flavor, but I thought the rest of the bowl was basic, on the small side, and lacked a lot of flavor. They let you sample the different meats if you would like which is nice. The outside dining area is really cool too. However, due to the proximity of other fast casual restaurants serving poké with more options and flavor, I probably will not return for poké.
