Checkmate Pizza

Ordered 2 medium subs and a small mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were cold and hard, and if the tomatoes were sliced any thinner, they would be paper! The roast beef was so he lowest grade you could get. My cat wouldn’t even eat it! Either the owner has no taste buds, or he doesn’t eat at his own place! Do NOT order from them!

I really like the pizza here but holy moly the lady in the front is rude and miserable. I called to order and said what I didn’t want on my sub because of food allergies. She really said “I don’t care what you don’t want on it just tell me what you want on it” And another day a sweet old man was in there telling her how happy he was to find a new pizza place, she said, “ok… are you going to order because I’m busy” Literally super rude! I think she needs to retire…

I ordered delivery last week, we live further out but they are kind enough to come out and deliver. On 9/24/21 from checkmate in Concord we had Lukas as our delivery person. He was so polite! I had to hold my cat so he didn't run outside and Lukas was so friendly to him and even held him and spoke about his own cats! It was a quick conversation because obviously he was working, but the way he made the delivery personable was great. He got a great tip just for being so kind. Keep this employee! Give him a raise or some sort of recognition because he is doing such a good job.
