Modu

Enjoyed our time at Modu for date night - extensive menu with 100 dishes at least. Delicious food, everything was so tasty but my favourite was the century egg with tofu, was craving it! Green beans with pork mince and the signature braised pork were also so tasty! Love the pippies with a bit of spice too. Great and attentive service, food came out quickly after ordering via app

Had a wonderful meal at Modu last weekend. A Chinese fix was just what I was after and this restaurant really impressed from the outside and in with modern styling and plenty of booths and larger tables to accommodate the tribe. You ordered by QR to the app and food came out really fast although not necessarily in the order you would expect them to. Serves were generous and flavoursome. Kellies favourite from what we ordered was the Sichuan styled noodle salad, which, as the name suggests was quite spicy (but manageable). She also really liked the Shanghai style fried fish with sticky sauce. I went for old favourites and enjoyed the salted egg yolk prawns and (dare I confess) sweet and sour pork. All up a really nice experience with relaxed mood and friendly attentive staff.

I was so excited dine in at Modu in Clayton. Being locals, we've previously been here for dumplings and we were so impressed with the taste and quality. This time we ordered: Stir-fried banana prawns with black pepper sauce Sweet and sour pork with pineapple Shanghai fried noodles Fried milky dough Peach ice tea Lemon ice tea The banana prawns were super tasty, it was packed with flavours. Try dipping the mantou (milky dough) into the black pepper sauce 👌👌 Sweet and sour pork is my hubby's favourite. Everytime we're at a chinese restaurant, it's his must order dish. He loved it, he almost finished the entire plate himself. Shanghai fried noodles is my absolute favourite noodle dish to order. The noodles were bouncey and cooked perfectly. Flavours on point 👍 If you were wondering why some of the dishes were cut off in my first photo, it's because the plates & servings are huge here 😂 definitely value for money.

Clean and friendly environment. Impressed by how clean the glasses that they serve water was. Price and serving was very reasonable. Ordered: Sweet sour pork with pineapple. No pic here coz I ate almost half on my own. Bruised pork on rice (take away for my son) wasnt saucy enough but alot of oil floating. Shanghainese stir fry noodles 'Big plate chicken' absolutely enjoyed it, the spice was perfect but noodle was a little lack of the bounciness. Probably because it was on a burner to keep the dish warm and I left it in there too long. Definitely coming back. See you soon!

Food was great! Staff polite and thoughtful. My partner first time here and he thought the order was paid for through the online ordering system. But it was not. Staff told us when we left and manager was nice and explained it in detail. Thank you for being nice about it and we will remember next time! :)
