Grounded

I finally found myself in town when Grounded was open, so I stopped in to check it out. First, the space is REALLY cool! It's hip in decor, with lots of space inside for even a bigger party. The space would be really cool for a birthday party or celebration. I had never been there, so I took a few minutes to look over the menu and decided to try a blended chai tea and a cherry turnover, because the pastries looked GOOD. The lady helping me was really nice and the service was good. My drink came out pretty quick, and I took my items home to enjoy, since it was close to their closing time of 2 pm. Blended Chai Tea: This drink was pretty and the first half was AMAZING. It was perfectly spiced and smooth, and I loved it. However, about halfway through the drink, it tasted like the "chai" part of my drink was gone, and I was left with this kind of strange foamy, icy, whipped-cream-with-a-touch-of-spice drink. Considering how strong the first half of the drink was, the second half was a little disappointing. However, I would still order this again! Cherry Turnover: Definitely homemade, and very good. The pastry was more doughy than flaky, which is actually my preference. The dough wasn't too sweet and had a great flavor to it. There was a little cream cheese icing on top, which was delicious and really helped cut through the acid of the cherry filling. The cherry filling was clearly cherry filling from a can, but it was still solid. I really enjoyed my afternoon treat from Grounded, and would definitely check them out if you are in Clarion.
