Staff was very accommodating of our party of 5 without reservations on a Sunday. Everyone enjoyed their food and the decor of the restaurant. I would like to see the recipe improved for the Crab Cake Benjamin: pricey, small portion size, hollandaise was lacking flavor, dull presentation. Lastly the menu said 18% gratuity is charged for parties of 6 or more. Since there were 5 of us we shouldn’t haven’t received that automatically on our bills but we did. Overall was a pleasant experience aside from that.

Very good appetizers! I was there with a party of 7 so we had an assortment of appetizers. The jerk and Honey wings, beef patties, salmon sliders and reggae sliders were the best...... Entree was alright for me I had the loaded fried rice..... My fam. Had the asparagus, salmon and beans and rice, jerk catfish and beans and rice, short ribs, pasta, baked chicken beans and rice and burger and fries...... only complaint I have which is a peeve of mine when the music is loud that I can't hear my own conversation........Service was great from Carlos..... Vibe and decor is great

We had a great dining experience for Sunday brunch. The bus boy Isaiah was the most impressive with his attention to detail and ready to serve attitude and professionalism. Chef James came out and spoke with us and my mom was eager to tel him how she usually doesn’t finish her food but today she cleaned her plate! Our server Honey was sweet also. Overall great experience and we definitely be back!!!

We are so pleased that we spent our third anniversary at 14 Parish. Everything was so incredibly delicious, the staff was lovely and the restaurant is beautiful. We can't wait to go back and try all the delicious things on the menu that we didn't get to try. Drinks: Mermaid Bathwater and Blackberry Jungle Bird Dinner: Coconut Curry Shrimp, Jerk Catfish and Corn Muffins Dessert: Fried Dough with Rum Sauce

I stumble upon 14 Parish looking for a place for a quick bite to eat. I was not dressed to have a "sit down" dinner. It was great with free smell, great music, and 2 beautiful hostesses that assured me I was fine and that I should sit down and eat. I was so happy I did. I can not remember my waitress name, but she was helpful and honest in her recommendations. Try the Hyde Parker! The Salmon Fried rice Anything the bartender makes Don'ts The Mac & Cheese

I finally got a chance to get by 14 parish last night. My thoughts.. I thought the food was delicious I had jerk chicken with cabbage and asparagus and my wife had the short ribs.. there was no complaints.. my server was kinda slow but it was because he was pouring water, taking dirty dishes back to the kitchen and serving other tables. Serving water and clearing tables shouldn’t be the responsibility of the server.. especially if he has other tables to work.. he was good but overworked.. really vibrant and beautiful place.. very sexy crowd.. the thing that made my day was when I saw the owner personally walking up to each table asking us about our dining experience and asking how to make our experience better I thought that meant a lot.. I’ll be back.. I want to try the red snapper I saw the dish come out for other patrons and it looked really good.. I’ll see you guys soon.

Closer to a 4.5 and I am definitely happy to have supported a Black-owned business. I saw some other reviews mentioning reservation and service as the main factors that lead to a 4 instead of 5 star. Fortunately I didn't get to experience reservation issues because my friend and I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon. But service was indeed a bit slow, not in terms of the speed of food coming out, but rather how quickly our server attended to our needs. I was okay with it because my friend and I were having a good conversation, but I saw the server running around here and there by herself, greeting new customers and coming to us asking what we needed. The store might be slightly understaffed. Regardless, my 4.5 star is because of the food taste. Pretty much everything tasted amazing and the modest combinations of romaine lettuce, jerk chicken, and the different kinds of cheese and sauces worked out greatly! With that said, I didn't think I tasted enough jerk flavor, which I was okay with because I am not good with spicy food, but I have had jerk chicken elsewhere before and I knew it tended to have a certain level of spice, which was slightly missing from my jerk chicken club. Did it taste good, though? Definitely yes. So I am just being nitpicky here. In addition, a big shoutout to their music playlist! Really soothing 90s and 2000s R&B music and I was definitely jamming to it! I know for a fact that I will return to this place upon my next visit to Chicago, and I do hope that there won't be reservation issues if I happen to use one for a relatively popular time like Friday night or Saturday night!
