Thai '99 Restaurant

Reliably decent Thai food. Best option for Thai (only?) In the Fry's Spring / jpa vicinity. Never a wait, service can be a bit hands off but always kind, portions are large and reasonably priced. The aesthetic of the decor is interesting, but nevermind that. I head here for a quick bite at a good price.

I used to love it, but I had worst meal today. I used to love it, but today the flavors were off, my wife's tofu was bland, and shrimp spring rolls were terrible (sauce was thick and gloppy) and a tiny little sliver of shrimp accompanied each roll. The pad Thai was too way too sugary. Also, vegetarians beware: the tofu pad Thai has pork in it. Very disappointing, new owners maybe?

This is the first time my wife and myself tried Thai. We didn't dine in but all staff was friendly and place seemed very clean. Wife got the red curry chicken and I myself got the cashew chicken and was lunch special so came with soup and desert of the day lets say I've found my new food kick every thing was amazing soup main course and desert everything was freaking amazing even went back and got another large desert because it was so good even talked to the owner very nice guy also has another resturant called Bangkok 99 I will be trying as well in crozet va and we'll definitely be telling friends family and strangers to check this place out

We placed our order over the phone and it was ready when we got there, but the food was pretty bland. The spring rolls had no noodles in them, just lettuce and carrots. The rest of our meal was just lacking flavor, especially the pad se ew. Service was nothing spectacular either and our waiter seemed more suitable for the likes of Applebee's than any Asian restaurant. Overall, very mediocre.
