Whistle Stop Express

Great fresh vegetables of all kinds! Biscuits are large and delicious! Prices are super low for the food n' wait staff that serve you!! This restaurant is one of "The Best Diners" I've ever been to!!! I just wish there was one closer to E. Texas!!! We'll definitely be dinning there again on our next trip to see my Dad in Cartersville, GA!!!!

We have been to this restaurant several times for both lunch and dinner. The food is good home style cooking, the menu diverse offering fish, beef, pork, chicken and more dishes with many vegetables, and is reasonably priced. It is a family restaurant with model a train circling the ceiling in the dining room and real trains passing across the street.. The wait staff is very pleasant, and are interested in making your meal a pleasurable experience. I really appreciate that I am allowed to season my meal the way I like it.

Love going to the Whistle Stop! This is a great local eatery with lots of personality and is quite affordable. We often stop here either on Saturdays, for breakfast or Sundays, for lunch after church. The staff is always friendly and I have noticed that they don't have a lot of turnover in their waitstaff. This is something that always stands out to me, since it is so hard to find good waitstaff, let alone keep them. Another thing that I personally find endearing is that on holidays (i.e. Memorial Day) the owner closes. Probably a reason that they don't seem to have the turnover that many businesses experience. Putting the needs of others above chasing the almighty dollar... well, let's just say that many corporations could benefit from such thinking. But that is ideology that is for a different forum. All said, this is a great little restaurant, with a surprisingly large menu that seems to constantly change. If your in the mood for some local fare, Whistle Stop Express is certainly worth the stop.
