Toad On The Road

My mom, daughter and me watched the World Cup Rubgy in Lakeside and was amazing! Always gave us great tables to watch with my mom in mind. Even with the final on Sat excellent service and communication. Even adding my daughters friends last minute😁Thank you for amazing time and the service fantastic even with so many people. You guys rock.

Always a treat going to The Toad on the Road. Friendly waiters fast and efficient service. The food is always delicious and fresh. We always offer the ribs or burgers. The ribs fall off the bone, and the burgers are juicy on a lovely buttery brioche bun, not to mention the generous amount of crispy chips you will not leave hungry that's for sure. The wait is not long, and the food arrived within 15 minutes of us arriving. Can't wait to visit again definitely worth it with reasonable prices as well. So when in Tokai please do yourself a favor a pop in at The Toad on the Road.

I went there this week to catch up with an old friend. We ordered the eisbein and reminisced. The waitress came over to apologize that the mash would take a bit of time and there would be a delay. It didn't bother us as all. After the meal, the manager (?) came over to apologise for it being late. We insisted - no problem. When the bill came, they comp'd us a round of drinks. That is a commitment to service I just thought was phenomenal. Thank you, team, we will be back!

This really is the epitome of the local village pub ... service friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Food is great and the beers are cold and great selection. I had the eisbein which I can very highly recommend and my friend a burger which was done to perfection and not one of those designer type monstrosities that looks great but is impossible to eat. I highly recommend this as a lunch venue (I cannot comment on dinner as we were there for lunch) and will definitely be back ... often!!
