We were finally able to stop in, and are so so glad we did! The food is, in a word, superb. The lobster bisque was the best I have had. The pork was cooked perfectly. The star was the crab and mushroom pasta - just amazing. Cooked perfectly and flavors and textures meld together just right. And generous on the crab! The service is, also, spectacular. Stop in for amazing food and friendly service. This is now on our must-go list of places to eat at in town.

We stopped here by chance and we are so glad we did. Even the side salad was above average, so fresh. The pumpkin ravioli was a very pleasant surprise. The chef even made a special extra sauce in case the one on menu was too spicy. We enjoyed Megan so much. She treated our doggie like royalty and brought her water. We will definitely return. I dined here with my family this evening and we were all blown away by the impeccably prepared dishes. Everything the chef made was absolutely delicious. Megan was an amazing hostess and server. She was so friendly and enjoyable to converse with! This place is perfection and I can't wait to come back again.

Cute, little spot in Cannon Beach to stop for lunch and enjoy the beach which is only a short walk from the restaurant. The salmon on the Fish Burger was cooked perfectly and the Tiki Salad was packed with fresh, seasonal vegetables. Limited seating indoors but there is outdoor seating (picnic tables) available as well. Dog friendly (outdoors) and suited better for parties under 6 people.

We have an awesome friend visiting and went sight-seeing. We didn't plan to eat at Castaways but, there were a surprising number of restaurants that were closed. It turned out to be fortuitous since we loved everything about it. The food was great and everyone enjoyed their respective meals. It was a very hot day so we started with some delicious cocktails. I don't know if Meghan is an owner or an employee but, she was working her rear off. She was making drinks, taking food orders and delivering them and, in spite of the heat she took the time to speak with us, make recommendations (and jokes), and, took wonderful care of us. I highly recommend eating here if you get the chance.

5 star for the food. The filet mignon in blue cheese was excellent. Wild Alaskan salmon was tasty, my only complaint was the filet was way too small 6 oz compared to probably a big pile of rice that was at least double the size at 44 usd ++. But I have to say the cooking skill is worth a visit. The Dungeness crab cocktail was quite straightforward, nothing too memorable.

Nicely casual restaurant with wonderful food. The prices here are a bit higher than elsewhere in town, and are certainly worth it. The lobster bisque tasted heavenly. Sadly there were no pieces of lobster in the soup, but it was exquisite nonetheless. The aoli sauce that came with the potato appetizer was spiced just right. I had the filet mignon with the bleu cheese sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked, the silky smooth mashed potatoes accompanying were a nice match. The vegetables as well were cooked to just the right tenderness. My only change would be to concentrate on just 2 or 3 vegetables instead of dicing so many varieties together. My wife had the seafood pasta. The portions of seafood included were generous. Included were sweet soft scallops, large pieces of crab and shrimp. The pasta was radiatore which held the sauce well. Half of the meal was happily placed in a box to be eaten later. For dessert we shared a fried banana, macadamia nut, cocunut and vanilla ice cream concoction drizzled with chocolate and caramel. Yum! Get a reservation to make sure that you can get in. A very nice place to splurge (a bit).

Castaway's is a gem of Cannon Beach. The food is heavenly and beyond delicious. Our waiter Colin was friendly, knowledgeable and great to talk to. He also knew the perfect amount of time to talk to a table, to make sure our meals were perfect with out bugging us unlike some places. Chef also graciously visits tables and talks to guests. My personal favorite is the Jambalaya, I go up to 8 on heat. This place is a must visit. Sometimes you don't need reservations but I strongly recommend calling a head and making sure you have a table. They will run out of some of the dishes because they focus on a medium amount of dishes, allowing the chefs to make each one even more special. tl;dr Castaways is 5 star restaurant but affordable, with divine food and amazing staff. make reservations in advance
