Kismayo Kitchen

I just visited Kismayo for lunch and 1) the Somali tea with milk is EXACTLY what you need this winter. It's warm, sweet, delicious, and almost makes you forget about the pandemic. 2) We ordered the Philly steak, Chicken Wrap, and Samosas for food and everything was delicious. I in particular really liked the Philly steak and the veggie samosa. I can't wait to order again. 3) Omar, the owner, is wonderful as was the other staff member I met. He's a welcoming and kind and he earned my business forever. I'm excited to go back!

Really tasty dishes here, hand crafted with lovely spices and perfectly cooked rice. Honestly, the rice is something special on its own. The beef and rice was delicious! The coconut rice and chicken was excellent. The beef somosa was tasty, but was a tad dry. Adding a sauce with it could do the trick. If you have the opportunity to try the tea, do so. It's a sweeter Chai and it's worth the taste. I was very impressed. As others have noted, the owner is the consummate gracious host, coming out from the kitchen to greet you and offer samples of his work. I'd definitely go back!

Outstanding!!! My husband and I called for take out at 8:06 PM. This was our first time ordering from Kismayo, so we didn’t know they closed at 8. The owner answered the phone and insisted he take care of us, in a way that made us feel special. Not only was the Philly steak sandwich the best we’ve EVER had, but the tea (that the owner gave to us as a courtesy) was AMAZING! It was exactly what we needed on a cold night. I have never been so impressed with customer service! Thank you Kismayo Kitchen! 🙌🏻

Wow! A new standard and customer service! Friendliest employees I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Also the food is pretty banging. I wish I lived closer and could go more often. I would definitely recommend getting the tea, it is a real treat. We tried both the rice dish and the curry, they were both amazing!

Wow! The owner of this place is so sweet! He complimented my daughter and brought the food to us curbside, even offered a glass of tea. We ordered a beef samosa, the chicken stew with rice, and the cheese steak sandwich. The order was ready in literally 5 minutes, and it is truly amazing, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Best samosa I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Delicious, authentic and affordable food! The goat was well-seasoned and moist, and the rice was bright and flavorful. I knew nothing of Somali cuisine before coming here, but left knowing I want to explore it more. I love small, family-run operations like this - they clearly care so much about what they're doing, going above and beyond to provide friendly, attentive service and delicious food. A must-try for anyone in the Burlington/Winooski area!
