This is without a doubt my favourite cafe in Brisbane. The service is always excellent, the food is great and coffee always on point!

Yesterday was truly one of the worst experiences when it comes to customer service. I visited stop 13@31 cafe for the very first time with my two children, a newborn and a toddler. I was first unable to get into the cafe as the cafe door was not fully open so I waited outside patiently until the customer inside had finished placing their order in the best interest of social distancing. The owner then came to the door and reluctantly opened the door to let me in. It was clear he was quite annoyed by my presence and stressed there was no room for my pram and so I obligingly offered to sit outside to not cause any inconvenience. <br/>Unfortunately, my optimistic plan to eat <br/> breakfast at a cafe with two young children was cut short as my newborn started to cry within minutes of sitting down and in the best interest of all the customers and not having to interrupt them with a crying baby, i decided to order take away and leave. As we returned inside the cafe to order I was met by a very frosty and cold welcome by owner. In a very unfriendly tone he snapped at me and told me that my order would be a minimum of 5-10 minutes wait. I didn’t mind waiting but it was clear he didn’t want me to be in his cafe. I then asked him why he was being so rude and to my absolute shock he replied by telling me that I was ‘annoying!’ I replied, ‘in what way have I been annoying?’ His response was, ‘you can clearly see we are a small square foot restaurant and you have brought your pram in here where there is not enough room for customers to move.’ I was completely appalled by his response. I then explained to him that he was discriminating me on the grounds for having a pram and if it was so upsetting he could either have refused service in the first place or placed a sign on his window asking customers to leave their pram outside. His response was, ‘you have two eyes, you can see there clearly isn’t enough room in here for your pram. There is already a Covid sign outside that you didn’t bother to read.’ I wish this was the end of the unbelievable insults - it wasn’t! When I stated that I had never been spoken to so rudely to before as a customer, he asked me to leave and find business somewhere else. So my response was, ‘and if I don’t, are you going to ring the police to take me out for being a mother with a pram wanting to order breakfast?’, he yelled, ‘don’t play the race card with me!’ as he stormed into the kitchen and refused to come out to talk (sorry, I forgot to mention that I am a woman of colour and at no point even raised the issue of race). I can honestly say I was so disgusted by his remark and hurt. Tears started running down my face as my poor little toddler asked why the man at the cafe was being so nasty to me. I didn’t know what to tell him but knew in my heart whatever the reason was for his anger (and I knew the reason), I did not deserve to be treated so disrespectfully. Especially in front of children. He could clearly see I had my hands full and the kindness of his service would have made my morning a little easier to manage. The owner went onto to say that he didn’t expect me to return and that I should be more sensitive to his situation given Covid. I reminded him that I was doing exactly that by being supportive of his business and in such times, it was being supportive of each other that was the important message that many people worldwide were embracing - not for the owner sadly. The owner expressed that he was certain that I would never return but I promised him that I would, in order to be a voice for the many other customers I am certain he has been impertinent to and possibly racist. From reading the responses from the negative reviews written on this page, it is clear the owner does not take criticism very well and has no interest in improving his customer service model. Today marked a day of discrimination on two counts - one for being a mother with a pram and two for being a woman of colour. The owner, the success to any business is good customer service. Your business will not survive with your personality.

Food intolerance friendly and delicious! <br/>scrambled tofu (Vegan) is so amazing. Honestly the best i have had. <br/>My friends that i have taken here (without dietary restrictions) all have loved it as well. It is hands down my favourite breakfast/ brunch spot in paddington.<br/>

Love to see a business so well organised as punctually opening at 6:30am. I witnessed them preparing the opening when I arrived 6:15am in the morning. Needless to say, I was the first customer of the day. After I had been warmly greeted by the barista, then I took a seat inside because it was quite a cold morning. Ordered my usual flat white and a croissant with bacon and scrambled egg (a bit of difference in serving croissant). While I was waiting for my order, my gaze browsed around and found this café providing a warm dining environment with nice-looking painting on the wall (of course you are welcome to take the painting home after you paid for it). Then came my flat white with a nice brown color cup and logo of di MANFREDI. I have not had this brew for a while so I was so happy to see my old friend. Next came the croissant with heaps of bacon and scrambled egg and accompanied with home-made tomato jam. Tell you the tips, you must have a little bit of the tomato jam with every mouthful of croissant. The jam definitely upgraded the whole brekkie to another level. It is always amazing how the chef could think out of using the subtle sourness from the jam to achieve such wonderful effect. Cheers!

Great place with really friendly staff. Had the savoury French toast & bacon weekend special and it was awesome. A kind of quirky take on eggs benny that really hit the spot all washed down with a vanilla milkshake... yummmo!!

We've been here three times iver two weekends, twice eating. The pastrami toasted sandwich, chicken burger and potato rosti and salmon breakfast were amazing! Great flavours and left us both wanting to come back and try more from the menu. Owner must have read the last review and changed his manner because the three times we've seen him he was really friendly.

I just had the best white chocolate and raspberry muffin ever, and I've tried a few. Light and not too sweet, the perfect accompaniment to my well made soy flat white. This could be a dangerous discovery for my waist line.
