Absolutely terrible. Advertise they are allergy friendly but have no clue. Terrible service. Questioned numerous times about status of my allergy- gluten free just because it's a trend, wheat intolerance or a celiac. Huge wait. My husband's steak sandwich came with potatoes chips as in a snack out of a foil bag lol Dare I mention the fish and chip paper on the tables. A nice family day out turn into a crappy long wait & I'm still not sure if it was gluten free. I should feel the affects in the next 30 minutes if it wasn't.

Cozy little cafe. Everything was delicious. We had almond & lactose free lattes, kids hot chocolates served in plastic cups was a thoughtful touch, pancakes and the big breakfast were all fantastic. I'll be back for more hash browns. I enjoyed having a flick through their record collection out the back, would've loved to hear something playing on the vintage player they have in the front window!

Great Gluten free selection. Great atmosphere.
Staff were fantastic. Able to have Banana Bread toasted without cross contamination.. that's a first. Very happy customer.

Mixed bag. When you enter it's not clear whether you wait to be seated or not. There were no lunch menus on the table so we thought they only served breakfast. When i went to order breakfast i saw lunch menus by the till. No one offered them to us. However we both enjoyed what we'd ordered, from the breakfast menu. Generous amount of salmon and the eggs were cooked very well. The staff seemed very stressed and the closed sign was put up at 1pm.

Possibly the best egg and bacon roll I’ve ever had. My Son’s pancakes where superb and the coffee was top notch. In a highly competitive cafe market, I can’t recommend Bright Cafe enough.

Ma and Pa operation which was quite cute. Had the eggs Benedict which was lovely. Wife had the egg and bacon roll, thumbs up! Kids had the pancakes and no complaints there either. Not my usual style but would come back.

I’m not normally one to post anything but here goes. My girlfriends and I went away for the weekend and decided to have lunch at this cafe. Straight away we noticed they were under the pump and short staffed, which we were more than happy to wait for our 3 nacho bowls we had ordered. The older lady at the front counter had terrible customer service, so bad it was making us uncomfortable sitting at the table. They decided to close the cafe early because they were understaffed and put their close sign up next to the door however, there were new customers walking in for service as they would have seen us inside/it was only 12pm. As each customer walked in the older lady was very rude and blunt shouting that they were closed and if anyone replied she would say “read the sign” and ignore any further questions. The nachos were very average. Cheese wasn’t even melted. On top of this they started blaring heavy metal music while we were eating and couldn’t hear each other speaking. We had to politely ask them to turn it down which they weren’t happy about doing but did. We wouldn’t recommend going here.

Wished I had read the reviews before we stepped in but our group was famished and just went into the first place that had seats. Food was quite ordinary and the service and attitude from the older woman at the counter was worse. She acted as though we were annoying her by asking her questions about the dishes. I would think a party of 13 in nearly empty cafe would make you happy to see the business coming through, especially post Covid.
When I asked for minor adjustments to our mean like scrambled eggs instead of the posted poached eggs she acted like we were asking her to find a chicken for fresh laid eggs and made a big deal about going to the back to ask. Then again when I requested no ice cream with my kids’ pancakes she said she’s still have to charge me for the ice cream but I asked asking for a discount. Just that I didn’t want ice cream. Despite using a kind tone and thanking for her going out of her way to accommodate our large party and smiling a lot I never received a smile back, only piercing eyes which I smiled into the entire time hoping she would at least not feel annoyed as she was doing a good job making us feel unwelcomed.
Considering we came all the way from Melbourne to support regional Victoria I’d expect better hospitality and service and in a town might Bright accustomed to many tourists I’d expect a local business to train their employees to prepare for such clientele.
But I suppose our experience wasn’t unique as I read the other reviews.
As for the the food it was very ordinary, quite terrible. Extremely greasy and salty. I tried to order something more light - avo toast with smoked salmon and it came drowning in hollandaise sauce. Pancakes too, dripping in butter and grease. See pics.
