Another place I've been going since I was a kid. It holds a special place in my heart. My parents used to own one of the resorts in downtown before The Landing existed. On weekends my dad would walk into downtown to get the biscuits and gravy for the whole family. He passed last year. I stopped in today just to order the biscuits and gravy. To honor him and relive a memory.
The food is amazing and the staff is still as friendly as ever. A quaint mom-and-pop place you shouldn't miss. If you want breakfast be sure to arrive early. They stay packed. If that isn't a testament to how good it is then I don't know what is.
Forget Olive Garden. When you are here at the Branson Cafe you really are family.

This place has been in business since 1910 not sure how? I got the fried chicken which seemed to be a specialty. The batter was pretty heavy and wasn’t my favorite. The side salad was nothing to write home about either. The hamburger seem to be mediocre at best. I will say the fries were pretty good. My daughter had a grilled cheese and it looked like I made it – which is not great. The potato soup had way too much rosemary in it. Go ahead and wait in line and go across the street for some better food. But not a ton better.

Great place to eat. Good home cooked meals in a laid back environment. A lot faster and no line like the place across the street.

This is a nice little cafe with friendly service and great food. I had pancakes and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was divine, and the pancakes had great flavor. I recommend trying them out one morning while in branson.

(3.5⭐️) A scratch made dinner for $12.99 is a bargain these days. I love the old school atmosphere and the history here. The food: unfortunately “scratch made” doesn’t guarantee great flavor. The sides were great, strange to say but the green beans were the highlight and would be the reason I give them another chance. The yeast roll was also fantastic and something I haven’t found like this in years. The chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and the white gravy all lacked flavor.
The biggest issue was the service, not the servers fault however. (New Manager please take this as helpful constructive criticism) I entered about 6:30 pm on a Tuesday. The place was mostly empty but you could tell the one and only server was stretched thin. As I ordered another table came in, then another and another. You CAN NOT leave a server with zero help no matter how slow it “usually” is. No buss person, no cashier and worst of all no manager to step in and help. If you are brought in to turn things around the last thing you do is say “we won’t be busy”, if you get busy and can’t serve your costumers they will not return.
The pictures of breakfast looks better than the lunch / dinner items, I hope it is. I’ve dined at another downtown diner and it was ok, not memorable. If the real old school Branson is to survive, all the locality owned downtown (and strip) restaurants need to step up, and quick. The chains are moving in, the big name entertainers are leaving or passing. If establishments like The Branson Cafe aren’t careful and proactive the very reason people come to Branson will disappear, then so will the crowds.

This cute little place has been in business for over a century because they do the basics and do them well. Imagine Grandma's pancakes and country ham, with Grandpa's gravy on the side. It's like eating at home, and sometimes after a long day out and about, that's just what you and the kids need.

This is a great, small town kind of feel, restaurant. We had breakfast there on father's day and it was delicious. My husband said it was the best breakfast that he's had at a restaurant in a while. My omelette was really good. The meals were a good size and not too expensive. I would definitely recommend!
