Scholar's Keep

The mushroom flat bread was delicious as well. A must try if it's your first time here. I have to say I really do like Molly which is one of the owners. She's extremely nice and I like her a lot. The only reason that I will be back is because of you Molly and her husband. They make sure everything is in order. I am very grateful for that.

First time back since it's been remodeled and under new owners. Love the new decor - more modern and sleek, yet very welcoming and conference. The food is great and definitely much improved from previous ownership (the chared Brussels sprouts are a must do appetizer). Finally the staff is very friendly and competent. I hope they keep it up.

This place is a mixed bag. Service was extremely slow considering the restaurant was not crowded and it was brunch. Menu listed on Google Maps is not the menu that you can order from at the restaurant. Apparently its an old menu that they do not use anymore. When the food finally came it was tasty. Tables and chairs not very comfortable which made the waiting worse.

Our server Ashley was attentive and friendly, thank you Ashley! The menu has alot to offer to everyone I feel. I enjoy a large meal, and was not disappointed. We had bread and butter, and meatball starters, the meatballs were excellent and bread had 3 butter/spreads, also very good. I had the chicken parmesan and a 1664. The piece of chicken was large with an ample side of spaghetti alfredo. Very good. The Mrs had the risotto and she said it was very good, but couldn't finish the plate because of the large serving! We had cheese cake and a flourless chocolate cake for dessert. The cheesecake was very good, dense and sweet but not over bearing. The Mrs really enjoyed her chocolate cake. I can't believe I haven't been here before and will definitely be returning!

I enjoyed the food and experience here the two times I've been. Check out the menu on their website; what Google has is incorrect.There are some nice vegetarian options, but it's a bit pricey for that fare. We enjoyed the brussel sprouts, cauliflower and veggie risotto. The filet mignon was also good. The bar and appetizers are good. The staff were nice and the vibe is funky. I do find myself missing the old Scholar's Inn when I'm here. Some of the dinner dishes, the bananas foster made in front of you, the brunch, the drink and appetizer specials, and the live outdoor music in the summer made for a great experience that we could afford to return for a handful of times each year. Scholar's Keep is a different concept, but I hope they succeed.

I'll start by saying this place does not cater to drinking while dining. On top both taps blowing, they were out of 3 bottle beers and gave me a different beer than I ordered. The markup is also INSANE; disregarding the general restaurant service up-charge, bottle beer and wine was marked up nearly 400%. Secondly, the food is only ok, certainly not worth the price point. Especially when you are served by waitstaff in leggings and tank tops. If someone is going to dish out $18 for a burger, the server's shirt should at least be tucked in. Overall an unprofessional and disappointing place. Won't be returning.
