Small Time

I usually stop into the Eastgate store due to it being so close to work, but yet again the quality of the items is beyond below acceptable. I just bought these tomatoes and got to my office and saw that they’re covered in mold on the bottom. Whoever is responsible for quality control has clearly been lapsing. This isn’t the first time this has happened with getting items and finding them later moldy and I truly think this isn’t going to be the last. Not asking for anything extra, but if at the bare minimum food in a grocery store should be edible.

Went in for a return (he was excellent!), & planned on getting something to eat. However, after waiting for several minutes - one of the workers turned around & saw me, but chose to completely ignore me by walking out from behind to talk to another employee 😖 (even a "be with you in a minute" would've helped).

Organic Brand cookies on the shelf one year after the Expiration Date. Notified manager. Some frozen foods have thawed and then re-frozen making the texture of some foods "chewy" and spongy. Ice cream products are loaded with frost indicating that they were re-frozen after melting with associated condensation. Large steel rectangular boxes in front of the store are very dangerous for someone tripping near them. Fertilizer bags placed in front of store next to the outdoor dining area. I have notified management to no avail. Want to redeem a lottery ticket? Good luck since there's no Customer Service available most of the time.

Not a bad Safeway. I originally gave it 3 stars because it seems like a smaller version vs most - If you're not too worried about selection then this does the job but the one on Gilman that's just a quick drive away has much more to choose from. I added a Star because of the staff. They somehow manage to be friendly every day, especially at the checkout
