Had a lovely brunch with my family, nice food and atmosphere. My french toast was delicious, really liked the candy floss as a garnish! Giving 4 stars as my daughter's pancakes from the kid's menu were a bit too dry, and needed an extra serving of maple syrup. Atmosphere is lovely but it is a rather rlarge space and it was quite cold and drafty inside. I don't believe the air conditioner was on and I personally think it should have been turned on as it's still winter.

Came here on Friday evening, restaurant is pretty empty. The staffs are busy chatting with each other, we have to wait to be seated for quiet a while. We ordered lamb and the tower burger. Lamb was delicious, but the tower burger was pretty average with a very small protion of fries on the side. Lucky we also ordered Nachos (nachos topping was cold).

The young woman who works here makes a really good coffee. When I go with my grandchildren she always brings their fluffies first - always a good sign when the staff recognize that children are often impatient for their drink/snack! We always sit near the impressive display of Lego and Transformers - a big hit with the kids. Very friendly and efficient service.

we ordered cocktails, lemon pepper squid, meat madness platter, five spiced pork ribs, burger tower and their charcoal pulled pork bun! I would highly recommend their ribs - my favourite dish of the night as they nailed the flavouring. I would definitely drive all the way from to Lynfield for them! I also really enjoyed their meat platter, every element tasted amazing - it also comes with more ribs 😉 yes The only downside was the handmade meatballs which tasted a little hard. The lemon pepper squid was fried to perfection and was the perfect starter. The burger tower was decent too. Their charcoal pulled pork bun didn’t wow me and felt like there was something missing. I think it lacked flavour compared to the other dishes we ordered. The cocktails were amazing and honestly so affordable compared to other places! Will definitely be back☺️<br/>

Went there after work on a Friday evening. The place was pretty good and not too crowded for a Friday night. Good atmosphere and we were pleasantly surprised with the amazing flavours of the food and a decent selection of cocktails. In general, it’s pretty good value, though the service is a tad slow. The meat platter is a must have for any meat lovers. The five spice ribs were cooked to perfection and falls off the bone! My personal fave gotta be the charcoal pulled pork bao! Amazingly tender and flavourful pulled pork nested in fluffy steamed bun with a good helping of Asian slaw. Yum in my tum!

Came in the restaurant with groupon vouchers. I ordered the entree nachos and they were huge!! The main lamb course and pork ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. Food took around 25 mins to come but I was fine since I had company. Mints were so cute!! Overall it was enjoyable but without the vouchers I would consider the food expensive.

We went in the other Sunday for lunch, with an expectation, unfortunately this fell way below, I booked a table of 6 ( had 2 x groupon vouchers) One to a spend up to $110 (for a table of 4) and one to spend up to $55(for a table of 2), totaling an amount of $165 I thought. I explained when booking we were a party of 6 they accepted this. Food was nice enough, drinks very small. But when we went to settle the account the total bill was $105.80 and we had to pay $31.80 toward that, and then the waitress - in broken English tried to explain and show me the small print of the coupon said buy one meal and get the 2nd one free at the same value or less, I could see no where on the voucher that said this. To end the conversation she said they have received a lot of complaints have been about that very same thing. I thought we could spend up to $165. Groupon said I had to consult the restaurant directly as they were not willing to step in, I have tried numerous times to call everytime rings and rings, to consult, but now have to resort to writing a review, to get something done about this. I buy a lot of dining vouchers from Groupon and have NEVER been disappointed by them. They state in clear English what the value is and what you are going to get. And you get what you pay for.Very DISAPPOINTED!!!

I moved into the area just under a year ago and I was looking for a place that i can relax in, enjoy a good meal, and a cold beer while I watch my favourite sports game, Chilli Bar and Cafe catered for all of this . . . Well, very well in fact.
I frequent here often when I am back in Auckland after my heavy traveling, the bar is always clean and tidy with a simplistic, stylish enough decor and great soft lighting for all occasions. The dinners I have had here (and I've had meals here often) are superb! Recently the menu changed and well it was already good, now it's great and I've enjoyed all of the different meals I have chosen. Tony Mathew your night time host is simply superb. Always greeting you with a smile, he takes the time to know your name, know your drink preference and converse with you on many topics. A great host! More recently I have dropped in to enjoy a good (like really good) coffee and a really nice breakfast. If your in the neighbourhood then I recommend you drop in, it's a hidden little gem this place and I'll be a frequent visitor for a long time to come. Cheers

Dined in on a Friday night. Parking was no issue. Restaurant was empty and felt flat. They were playing western music which seemed odd and didn’t create an appropriate ambiance. Seafood platter was great, lovely combination of seafood and a chowder. Steaks were too small and my steak was over cooked to what I requested, my steak was also doused in what tasted like a salad dressing which spoilt it. The steak was Scotch fillet which came in 2 small pieces with quite a bit rubbery bits. Meal portions were on the smaller side. Chicken pasta was bland and again small. Pork ribs were deliciously cooked and the sauce was amazing. I ordered raspberry lemonade drinks which were served in small tumblers and for $4 I thought they were over priced. I ordered x2 cokes which we were given the cans and glasses. It would’ve been better to have had these in tall glasses with ice. My dessert which was mouse was runny. I visited this place due to Groupon vouchers which were very well priced however if I did pay full price I would’ve been disappointed due to portions, poor pieces of steak & over priced drinks. I think they tried really hard but we’re off the mark. I’d go back again but only for the seafood platter.

Firstly the place smelt musty. The food took forever to turn up. Our daughter always enjoys fish and chips. This fish stunk, frozen and not thawed properly. My omelette was super greasy. The staff had trouble understanding basic english hard to communicate. Better off going to a take away.

Went here for dinner with voucher. Dinner was supposed to start at 5pm. Waited till 5.40 for chef to arrive. Ordered the burger and fries and spaghetti and chicken. The bun of burger was burnt and the filling was too much for such a small bun. The chicken pasta dish had no taste (weird I know), but there was no taste. Got mocha mousse and banana split for dessert. The mousse was strong syrup.. Not a mousse at all. The banana split was o. K. We also got a berry smoothie and a banana smoothie. They were not Smoothies, they were milk Shakes.. Also we were the only customers. I would not recommend this cafe.. And will not be going back again.

Love the ambience of this place. Nice and quiet for a romantic dinner. Waitress greeted us and gave the right amount of time to choose our meals. Food was extraordinarily yumm. Ordered 2 meat shared platters and they were cooked to perfection. Meatballs flavourful and short ribs falling off bone.! Only downside were the drinks! Ordered smoothies and a milkshake and they weren’t good at all didn’t drink half way. But would return for food.

Went here for dinner. We had the GroupOn voucher. First we ordered drinks, it was good. The whole meal was good-entree, mains, dessert. The only complain i have is that the food took time to arrive. We arrived at 7:00 pm and we finished all the meals at 9:00. Was a bit of a wait for everything.

The Groupon voucher allowed soft drinks, but I ordered a coffee, which was very nice. I have never had or attempted to eat such a big meal but I scoffed it down I REALLY enjoyed it, I like the way they got my order right as I like crispy bacon and eggs well done and they got it just right. They serve dinners at the end of the week, so we will definitely go for dinner and we are willing to pay

Been here before, decided to give it another try as menu has changed a bit. To be honest, it has gotten worse. No more entrees, which were actually fantastic the last time. Waitress was useless, stuffed up our orders about 3 times, at the end we gave up and just ate our meals. I ordered the seafood pasta, and unfortunately it had given me food poisoning until this day. It has been nearly a week. Which is why I thought I needed to write a review. Took the kids there, they were disappointed as well. Hubby's steak was ordered as medium-rare, turned out to be RAW. We just laughed about it as we thought it was a joke. Chose the Jack Daniels sauce to go with it, turned out to have no sauce on it whatsoever. When asked for it, the waitress returned with mushroom sauce. Portions were small, food bland. Desserts were a joke, super cheap sweet stuff that even the kids didn't want to touch but didn't want to waste money so we forced ourselves. Left disappointed and felt as if we just flushed money down a toilet bowl.

After being away (for work) on an All Black Tour for just over 3 weeks it was a pleasure to return to my favourite spot. As always I was greeted with courtesy and a smile by night host Tony Mathew. We talked work, the happenings in the world and of course our fav topic the rugby. I tried a new version (chicken) of an old favourite on the menu and I must say I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. (I'm not a fan of Cajun chicken) This place suits all of my needs and wants both in the morning and evening. As a heavy traveller around NZ I have many cafe-bar type favs that I frequent because of how they cater for my needs, to return home and have that in my own back yard is an added bonus, hence my frequent visits when I am back. If I could give this place a negative rating, then I would! Be sure to avoid purchasing "deals" that they seem to be pushing through various websites. Tried to redeem one for breakfast, iced coffee & a smoothie only to be told voucher only covers soft drinks & juice (neither which we drink). (Link below - you need to add http - showing exclusions were hot drinks & Alcohol). 3/4 of an hour, after talking to Manager on the phone we left with zero food or drinks consumed, our voucher showing in our account as redeemed & a refund refused by cafe. Manager arrogantly told us to "try" and get a refund from Living Social. Customer Service - zero! Three of us dined at lunch time on a Sunday because we were driving past. This place is a cafe with cabinet food by day and a bar for watching sports at night, it feels awkward. The three meals came out at varying times and none looked particularly appealing. Fried eggs on one dish were barely cooked and running all over the plate, chips with the cajun chicken were lukewarm and appeared to be cooked in old oil. The corn fritters took the longest amount of time to arrive and I could barely find a piece of corn in the chewy pancake flat fritters. Disappointing.

My husband and I came here using Groupon voucher overall great service and good food. Presentation was very good and professional. They forgot about our side order and it came late they offered it to us for free and the Only let down was that salmon was meant to be "char grilled" but it was definitely pan fried. Apart from that we are satisfied, great staff and good portion sizes!

The staff had not heard of the deal and spent 30mins+ on the phone with Groupon while we weren't served... Offered me the phone to speak to Groupon (??) who cut the line at that point. They seemed very reluctant to serve us what our voucher specified.Positives: The food when it finally came out was tasty enough (possibly due to my hunger after the wait).

Very disappointed at this place! Customer service is low standard, as we enter the cafe, the menu was given but we werent acknowledge (no water given or whatsoever) we had to get the waitress attention so we can place our order, after waiting roughly 15 minutes, (it wasnt busy at all) she took our order and waited another 20 minutes for it to be served My steak was inedible! I order medium rare, however the steak was so hard, it takes 5 minutes for it to be slice with a knife, the texture was so chewy that i couldnt swalllow it. I asked for it to be recooked again and have it well done instead, cos my partners steak was well done and it was ok and not hard. I waited 10 minutes for it to be cooked again, kudos to them cos they gave me new piece of steak however the steak was not the best at all, it was dry and hard. And also, no complimentAry water given on our table, we had to ask for it personally in the counter. No to the food and customer service! The waitress was so snobbish!

It took over 15 minutes to be served with our drinks and even longer intervals between each course. The food that was served was stone cold and we left still feeling hungry. I wouldn't go back.

Great to have somewhere really close to home that serves up yummy kai - nice service and quite a lovely setting too. The only thing I would recommend to the hosts is that, when we arrived there was only one other couple in the whole restaurant and we were seated right next to them when we could have been given a spot with a bit more privacy; also it's better if the menus are given to you once you're seated - only little picky things, nothing major, a nice dining experience overall and will definitely be back! Oh we had the scallops, calamari, fish of the day (snapper), lamb shank, creme brûlée & chocolate fondant. I loved the calamari & brûlée were my faves, snapper was yum, slightly over cooked but still delicious :-)
