I had scheduled for James River equipment to come out and look at my tractor. In order for them to come look at it they need a card on file but I was assured they would not charge me and it just needed to be able to make a mobile service appointment. A gentleman came and looked at the tractor informed us that he did not have the correct diagnostic equipment for our model and left. No paperwork was left for us or anything. I didn't think much more about it until my credit card was charged almost $300 without my approval or my knowing. I understand the service call would not be free but I did not appreciate being charged without being informed first and without any kind of invoice to look at. When I called to inquire about this I was told it was normal. If you don't want to be charged out of the blue without knowing what you are paying for I would recommend seeking service elsewhere.

I just recently purchased a new 1025R, 5048 box grader and AV20F grapple. I can say nothing but good things about all the staff at James River Equipment. From the receptionist, to the parts counter, to the sales department, to delivery, they have good people that will make you feel welcome, valued and appreciated. I would recommend them to anyone looking for great tractors, implements, accessories and parts at reasonable prices. They have a very nice, clean showroom and offer test drives of equipment. A great team always impresses me, I look forward to many future years as a customer! To the Owner: McKayla is my go to at your company, and will be in the future. She is very kind, professional, very responsive and a true asset to James River Equipment! Robert- Sales Manager- was very kind and professional, ensuring my paperwork got to Mckayla's desk. (And we all know, all to often, our leaders don't get recognized for their efforts, they just get the job done and dont expect recognition.) Don was great on delivery, very knowledgeable, professional and it shows he enjoys his career. Kenny in service was very kind and loads trucks with a fork lift like he's been doing it all his life :) I did not get your receptionist name but she made my son and I feel right at home, gave him a JD coloring book for the ride home as he looked at your collectables/toy section. And your parts counter associate stayed after to ensure I obtained the correct hydraulic fluid I needed for my machine. I know I've told each of them personally, but please pass on to them my appreciation for all of their assistance and kindness!

JD tractors are OK, get the best warranty you can. Service department has been slim shady from the get go, they didn't even deliver the tractor when they said they would. Amos Equipment Repair LLC has never been anything less than great, forthright and honest. Avoid this place if you can. I asked for a quote on a repair more than once, what i wanted was something on paper or at least pdf that broke down the cost of services requested, what i got was a text thread with a single figure. The annual service cost me 516.62, verbally i was quoted around $400, which is in line with years past. Repair for a part that never worked right was $600 verbal, it functions correctly now whic is how we know it never worked right in the past, it has always taken 10x the force to operate the lever that broke. "Our warranty people said it wasn't covered" can you give me the point of contact for your warranty people, crickets chirping, obfuscation, i doubt it was submitted because it was super sus at this point. MORE TO COME.

As a customer I have not been let down by James Rivers customer service and equipment. Bought several machines, the purchase process is streamlined and warranties are upheld. Also use their tracking and maintenance software (Aardvark). Garret Frick and Sam Ford have been top notch with keeping us running efficiently and any issue I've encountered they have jumped on it with educated assistance. Service team at their Raleigh location is top notch also, Chelsea Yopp is a pleasure to work. Really appreciate a competent, stocked and well managed vendor like James River.

The customer service sales rep, Mckayla, was the consumate professional and I felt well taken care of in the sale of my new zero-turn mower. She was knowledgeable about the product and the year long zero financing option. I asked some technical questions that she was sure she knew the answer but was honest in that she wanted to confirm her answers with a service technician. I appreciated her up-front manner as well as her personal touch in the sale. The mower had to be brought in from an out-of-state shop and she regularly texted me to let me know where JRE was in the process of getting me the mower. Even after the sale she continued to follow up with me regarding my satisfaction. Her service is a testament to James River's well earned reputation and I will continue using JRE for the servicing of my mower as well as any new purchases.

If you need a tractor talk to makayla. If you have questions about JD products talk to Makayla. If you are in a hurry and need a no hassle no issue purchase talk to makayla. JD and sales people made this the easiest buying experience ever. I highly recommend them all of my paperwork, financing, delivery was handled without any problems at all. Thanks to delivery Don also for a great delivery also.
