Applebee's

My niece and I went out and decided to have some nice casual dining. It took a few moments for us to be noticed, but business was slow for a Wednesday. We were seated by a pleasant waitress, who made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. Everything was served relatively quickly. My only complaints come from the fact the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been (probably uncaring customers) and there was a spill behind the bar, which led to the bartender/server leaving wet footprints in the path towards the bathroom. There needed to be a wet floor sign. I slipped a bit, but it was not enough to call attention.

Today was a bad day for this Applebee’s. Our visit started with the hostess who seated us forgetting to bring us menus. Not a huge deal, but ya know. My hubby ordered the French Onion Soup as an app (one of our absolute favs!). The soup was barely warm and looked so congealed that I didn’t want to taste test it for hubby. We sent this back and didn’t ask for a replacement. Then hubby’s Four Cheese Mac with Honey Pepper Chicken also came out cold with no honey pepper sauce. We also sent that back and listened to our waitress, Cierra, tell my very frustrated husband that he was incorrect about his soup being cold…. So I had to interject, tell her that regardless of what they thought - he didn’t like the temp of the food and to please take it off the bill. Nothing was done for my hubby who sat and ate some onion rings. No apology. No manager checked on us. No one asked how it could be made right. We watched the majority of the staff play on their phones while we finished what we had. I insisted we tip the 20% in spite of this.

My friend and I sat at the bar when we went. The bartender was amazing. He was friendly, inquisitive, concerned, and timely. Then! A song from Dirty Dancing came on and one of the waitresses and I started belting it out. Such a beautiful atmosphere. If you have not gone to this location, please do. The staff, service and food are worth it!

Took mom out and tried for a nice dinner so that she could just relax and just eat... First of all the sever was awful. She took our drink order and got that wrong, so I knew it was going to get worse. It took her 10 minutes just to get my mother a glass of water.... Ugh... The meal itself was not too bad. Got the spare ribs. (The famous spare ribs) They used to be amazing melt in your mouth full of yum. But now it like eating beef jerky and the Mac and cheese... I don't know how the messed up Mac and cheese but they did... You would think with all that cheese there would be some kind of flavor. But you would be wrong. I would rather had the noodles in a butter sauce. At least they would taste. But the best thing about the whole experience is that mom had a nice meal. She enjoyed everything and ate quite a bit. So, with that in mind I can put up with an awful server and subpar food for that...
