This was my first time and I actually didn't plan on going in but the place I was going to was closed. I'll just go ahead and chalk this up as one of those things that was meant to be because I had an awesome dining experience.
The staff was super friendly and I started off with the Ecusta Blonde Ale and it was very light and flavorful, and so good that I had to have a few of them.
And so I have saved the best for last on this review. It was a 7 hour drive for me to get to Asheville and the wings that I just ate made the entire trip worth it! I don't know what they do to these things back in the kitchen but they are absolutely phenomenal and hands down the best wings I have ever eaten anywhere in this country! And just when I was trying to contain myself from over excitement I tried the pesto aioli but they serve with the wings and this too was amazing. I almost asked for an extra tub of just the aioli to eat. I realized I should have tried the pizza but I'll save that for next time. Get these WINGS and thank me later!

Love this place. Wonderful pizza 🍕-- had the pepperoni, sausage and onion -- and our server was really pleasant. They also have a terrific selection of beer. The atmosphere was also fun. The building has stood for a long time, with dark hard wood floors that are original. Great place to spend some time with a friend.

My husband and I have been coming here for a years. Every time we visit Asheville we come here, they have a great beer selection (I’m not a beer drinker) but love the gingers revenge. The pizza slices are amazing too, what have dairy free options and you can get what you like added to a slice and eat in or take out. Also the service is great. I always ask the bartender working if they have had any ghosty experiences because old buildings. The ambiance is nice, it’s just fun, just go.

The place is being managed by someone new. The menu was reduced to 10% of what it used to be. If you just want pizza, there are many others in the area that are definitely better. I've been coming to this place for many, many years. I am very disappointed at the food selection on this visit. Pizza was burnt at the bottom and lacked any flavor. Waitress was lovely and very attentive. It used to be always full of people but not today's visit. Do try the place, but if it has been a while, you may want to view Manu online first.

If I were to choose again, the Calzone was definitely a hit and the pizza slice was meh. Beers flow here and staff was great.

Absolutely the best pizza we have ever had The crust was delicious, made with sourdough bread and thin! The toppings were plentiful and very tatsty. All the reviews we read were on point, best pizza ever! Our server was Dave, he did an excellent job to make our experience a great one! We will make it a point to come back when we are in town! Don't miss this one, you'll be sorry if you do !

There are two areas outside to sit and eat that are dog friendly, inside is not. The seats outside are great if you like people watching, you are facing the street. To eat/drink outside you have to order inside and they will bring your food out. Lots of beer options and most are local breweries. Beer was good. Food was decent but nothing spectacular, we got a calzone.

This is our favorite place to eat in Asheville. If you like pizza, then it's a must! We make a point to stop here every time we are in town. It's a really cool atmosphere, the staff has always been great and the food (and beer) is delicious!

Love this place. Great selection of local craft beers. Homemade pizza is delicious. The black bean hummus dip is generous and warm. Best I've had. They even have live music on certain nights. (Posted in 2018)
Have been back numerous times. Got the Italian Sub. Extremely tasty even tho they forgot the tomato. Beer choices are top notch here with many NC brews available. I had to get my favorite...Gingers Revenge.

I had not visited Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria in nearly 20 years. The atmosphere downtown was warm and inviting. The food was great and our waitress was phenomenal.
