Ruby's Diner

I've been here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a burger each time and it was great, average pricing.... about $10 for a burger and fry platter. The fries are endless and they are the shoestring fries, if you like them. I said I was going to get breakfast last time I went but the burger drew me in. It's an old- fashioned joint representing the 40s and 50s style diner. It is a small place and I imagine they have a long waiting list in the summer. They also have a large variety odd milkshake options which is on my list to try right next to breakfast.

Food was good but our server was pretty rude. We'd ask a question that requires and answer and she would just say "yes" and walk away (which didn't really help us). The staff never smile or care about your experience, If you don't want to work, then don't work. Only when we started talking about the tip did she actually start being nice. The food is the only thing making me come back and I recommend people only buy to go.

Use to be a great experience but the last 3 visits have been horrible. First bad experience the service was slow and they never gave use the salad combo like we asked for. NBD so we tried again. Second experience they messed up the order completely. Had to wait 20 minutes for them to redo it. Last and final visit we waited for 25 minutes for a table then 30 minutes for someone to even acknowledge we were there. We ended up just walking out. Never again. If I want an impossible burger I will find it somewhere else.

Excellent food!! Hats off to the chef!! However, servers Emily and Sarah need to get it together. They spend half the time figuring out what table belonged to them. Watched 2 tables walk out because they weren't served or even acknowledged. Asked Sarah if she was out server and she smiled said "no I am not," and turned and walked away. Had to ask the hostess, who was nice- to send our server to the table. Emily forgot my dessert and when I reminded her she picked up the check that she had already set on the table and added to the bill. No apologies... nothing. I've been to many Ruby Diner"s across the country... this place- the service doesn't compare.
