We discovered this little cafe on one of our early morning meet ups. What we liked was the decor.. very relaxed and quirky .. and the karak. They had some lovely helpings when it came to their trays so we were able to try alot of things between the two of us and feel fairly full. The two emirati breakfast trays we ordered were a lovely combo of sweet and savory. It was a balanced and satisfying experience.

A never again experience.. Indian staff was rude,cold and not friedly at all.. TOTALLY not inviting..French fried were fried in old oil and remaining black stuff were on it, u can see it from the pic and NO that is not black pepper.. club sandwich was ok..<br/>* Will I go back again!! Never.. can have the same club sandwich or even better in a more friendly/clean atmosphere..

Local Bites Cafe is one among the fine dining cafe servicing local Arabic cuisine at its best. Rare to get some authentic local cuisine and i was excited to get an invitation from the new owners of this cafe. The restaurant is not new to Dubai. It was recently got renovated and was opened to provide a new experience to Dubai residents.

Even after being in the UAE I think many people might have missed trying the local cuisine,<br/>Especially because this place is a melting pot for all cultures and your preferred food joints can be seen.<br/>In midst of so much variety, Local Bites gives you try Emirati cuisine, which is simple and has varied Asian influences in it,<br/>Your stay or life in the region is not complete if you haven't tried it, and trust me you will love every bit. <br/>The decor is very simple and basic, yet murals, old pictures of Dubai and some personal messages will catch your eyes,<br/>But the food speaks volumes in which the authenticity and the surprise lies.<br/>The Jumeirah mint lemonade was refreshing, a bit tangy and sweet, <br/>The Jumeirah Cold coffee is unique with addition of date syrup, exemplary and a drink to beat! <br/>The Shawratha is the highlight, paratha generously filled with well cooked and juicy chicken, <br/>Jumeirah Khameer sandwich was commendable as well with grilled chicken, the fresh Khameer deserves a special mention.<br/>Both are simple dishes but well flavored and in taste impeccable,<br/>We finished the meal with a local dessert, by ordering Lugaimat on the table.<br/>Soft from the inside, crispy top and drizzled with date syrup, so heart warming and sensational,<br/>As the name suggests, it's as local as it can get and a bite here is quintessential.

I would call it: Emarati Cafe..<br/><br/>Have all the local known Emarati dishes.. which are truly Emarati, in the presentation and the taste.. <br/><br/>Location is perfect, If you are visiting Dubai, and wondering about the traditional different Emarati cuisines, please visit the Local Bites Cafe

What we went for: Local bites for breakfast- need I say more<br/><br/>Ambience: aye aye.. it's simple- and I am not faulting that, but it's boring too?- that I dare to complain; can one even afford to be that in Dubai's busy restaurant scene where you get but one chance?<br/>The traditional Arabic murals get their space on the walls but otherwise not much effort has been put into the decor. <br/><br/>What we ordered: A jumeirah platter and an Emirati omelette, Karak chai with cinnamon and saffron<br/><br/>Price: Aed 80 after a surprise 20% discount on the hsbc card<br/><br/>Verdict: at 8 am on a Sunday morning we were the only patrons gracing the cafe; I was expecting an energetic server happy to explain the specials on the menu and what we should try.. since there was nobody else.<br/><br/>We got our menus and placed our orders, I took my obligatory pictures, even finished the newspaper and mourned the sad fate of the Karama market that is expected to face a tough summer!! I mean the true icons of dubai being taken by the swanky new malls...<br/>The allure of bargain and a stroll down fake goods haven now just a distant memory :)!! Anyways another reminder why no place can be complacent and rest on yesterday's laurel.. I was woken up by the sweet fragrance of my hot tea!! As late as it was it was delightful in all measures! Thick, strong, saffron laden- yum!<br/>And then my husband and I discussed the perils of Brexit with him a little less sure then he was 10 months ago and me a lot more sure than I was at about the same time, about the future of the UK! <br/>And it seemed like forever for our breakfast to arrive, because we had now crossed over to the Atlantic to talk about the deep impact on Indian software business with Trumpologic at play, aah who do I pity?<br/><br/>Out order of eggs and a jumeirah platter- balaleet, chebabs, khameer and a paratha with date syrup and cream cheese finally did arrive.<br/><br/>Eggs- were very nice, warm and loads of fresh condiments to give it a zing but at aed 32 over priced.<br/><br/>The jumeirah platter is a lovely way to dive into Emirati specialities. It all tasted allrite, but in today's health conscious society I wish an effort had been made to switch the assemble the platter differently to allow for proteins- cheese, good fats- olives, some salad.. I am not faulting any of the preparations or dishes but we all have a part to play in making our society healthier and the way menus are assembled in restaurants has to be seen as an important way in today's world where we eat out more often than we eat in.<br/><br/>Service was laid back, tapered on hesitant and nervous with a shy smile at the very end:)<br/><br/>Would I return? Hmm...will have to chew on this one!!

Tried Jumeira platter from Local Bites cafe which comes with a Paratha, 2 Chebab, 2 Khameer ,Balaleet, Date Syrup and Cream Cheese. Loved their Paratha, Chebab and Balaleet which go very well with the accompanying Date syrup and cream cheese. <br/><br/>Khameer is not something too special to talk about. All in all we had a very good experience. <br/><br/>Considering majority of the food was made up of carbs, we sort of felt the missing accompaniments that we are accustomed to in Sub-Continental breakfasts. But that was a miss on our end as we missed the other ingredients in their menu which follow. <br/><br/>Anyways, a place worth re-visiting.

I dined here expecting local specialties and was pleased to see Emirati cuisine and some creative items on the Local Bites menu.  To my knowledge, this location is one of the only venues in Dubai serving stuffed parathas (which are worth stopping in for).  The portion size was also definitely big enough for two people to enjoy.  This would be a fun place to bring out of town guests to try something local!

This small but cozy cafe has a very cool vibe, the staff are lovely and inviting.<br/>We had:<br/>- Chabab: Emirati pancake with cardamom and saffron served with date syrup. <br/>- Mash and Cheese Paratha: crisp paratha stuffed with spicy potato filling, cheese and chilis chutney. <br/>- Falafel khameer sandwich - fresh bakef khameer stuffed with golden fried falafel and tzatiki dip.<br/>- Namlet: locally made Emirati drink available in five flavors (lemon, orange, rose, pomegranate, mixed berries). We opted for lemon and rose.<br/>- We ended our meal with Lugaimat, Gahwa served with dates, and Karak flavored with cardamom.<br/><br/> Everything was delicious. Local Bites Cafe overly impressed me. It is a cafe/restaurant where you can indulge in traditional Emirati cuisine with a modern touch. . Located on Jumeirah Beach Road, Local Bites Cafe had a complete makeover recently. The minute you enter this cozy cafe, you know that you are going to have a memorable time as the cafe has a vintage vibe to it.

This is a cute café with a welcoming & hospitable staff.<br/>Food was good & was prepared in good amount of time. Concept is  an Emarati breakfast with a twist - many sandwiches are made with paratha which I enjoyed - mainly the Nutella stuffed & pizzata. <br/><br/>You can actually have breakfast throughout the day, every day. They also had valet parking which took away from the hassle of finding parking.

localbitescafe located in Umm suqeim offer some great options if you are looking for Emirati food with a twist. <br/><br/>I opted for <br/>1. Shawratha : crispy paratha stuffed with chicken shawarma, pickled veggies, cheese and tarator sauce . Priced 40 dhs. I really liked it , do try it<br/><br/>2. Jumeriah khameer sandwich, khameer bread filled chicken priced at 35 dhs. Again a decent sandwiche , quite filling. <br/><br/>3. Mix mezzah platter : 2 fried kibbeh, 2 cheese and spinach fatayar, 1 vegetable spring roll with sauce . Priced at 38 dhs. <br/><br/>4. Karak priced at 7 dhs.loved it <br/><br/>5. Lugaimat Priced at 25.<br/><br/>Overall it's a great place if you want to have food with local touch , do check it out, everything tasted good.<br/>The only thing that need improvement is service , the server is little slow , when I went there was just one person who was looking after everything. I don't know that's little weird , but food wise it's decent place won't disappoint you <br/>

Recently I spent a beautiful evening at this newly opened(renovated) Cafe on Jumeirah Road. This place has renovated itself, and a lot on the menu has also changed, but what has not changed is its essence and of course the chef. Visit this place to enjoy a sumptuous Arabic breakfast with multiple varieties of bread served with eggs. On the other days where waking up early is really not the thing, just head here for the nice cup of karak chai and some Oman cheese & chips rolls. Conveniently located near the Jumeirah beach on Jumeirah Rd, Umm Sequim, this place is a must visit if you're looking for a quick bite, light dinner or tummy fulfilling breakfast.<br/>Try : - Achar Pasta - An indigenous Local Bites Cafe mix of Achar & Pasta  - Karak Chai & Oman Chips & Cheese Rolls - for obvious reasons.- Shawartha - The combination of shawarma in a paratha, is what the new menu brings in post renovations. Fusion food is the new thing!- Jumeirah Khameer Sandwich : khameer bread filled with chicken tahina &lettuce k/a Jumeirah Khameer Sandwich - Don't miss on the sides i.e. French Fries with Zaatar & Lemon Salt. If you've a tangy tongue you'll love it.- Namlet - Soda drink with different flavors - once one of the most popular drinks in the UAE. By the 1980s it had all but disappeared, available only at exclusive private affairs. But...you can get it here. - Lotus Shake - one of the newest additions to the menu as per the market demand. Local Bites Café as the name suggest is a place to hang out with friends in Jumeirah to have some small bites.It was recently renewed and got a fresh look after new owners took over the place.We got to taste some new and old dishes from the menu when we lately visited the place. We started off with the drinks and we called for the Jumeirah special which is cold coffee with date syrup as sweetener.A good one to start with.We also had a Lotus biscoff shake.It was rich and creamy too.We also got to try the Namlet which is a local fizzy drink,It tasted different from the typical ones and I liked it too.

Iv been living in Dubai for the last 26years but I never enjoyed Emirati cuisine until I visited Local Bites Cafe.<br/><br/>This cozy cafe is located in Jumeirah and is very easy to find as it's on the main road.<br/>The interiors are warm and have a modern Arabic personalised touch.<br/><br/>The staff is polite and are happy to serve you.<br/>The restaurant serves Emirati fusion cuisine with a touch of Indian and Pakistani food.<br/><br/>I tried:<br/>Shwaratha- Paratha with shawarma stuffing. Iv never even heard of such a paratha ever but it was soooo good!!<br/>Jumeirah Special cold coffee- the coffee is brewed in-house and the best thing is there is NO SUGAR!! Instead they add date syrup which is a healthier option. The coffee tasted great too.<br/>Jumeirah Khameer bread- this is a special Emirati bread with a special Local Bites marination to their chicken. The chicken is marinated overnight. This was delicious too and was very light. The accompanying fries are super yum, they have a special tangy-sour salt sprinkled over them.<br/><br/>For desserts I tried the Lugaimat and Balateet with eggs. These were ok but I definitely enjoyed the mains a lot more than the dessert.<br/><br/>Indeed a lovely cafe for all to check out!! <br/>Leave them a remark on their postcards and you could find it on the comments wall :)

There is always a special excitement when you know the old cafe that has undergone a renovation is back & reopened their doors. You soon try them with their best foot forward. The local bite that has titivated in their Emirati appearance, with a splendid fusion menu in the house. Menu went through a makeover too, keeping the popular local dishes on the menu and introducing new modernised platter on board, with Emirati and Desi favours. We were all summoned up to try out the new menu and we couldn’t stop to dig in.

Great food. Decently priced. Awesome ambience. What else can one ask for after a long day. Just sit back and feel relaxed. A must try the khameer sandwich, cold coffee and not forgetting the parathas. Something definitely one must try. God job local bites. 5 star rating and a must visit cafe in umm suqueim, jumeirah if you are around. <br/><br/>Thumbs up!!!

Emirati restaurant, Local Bites Café, is back with a new look and a revamped menu in its original location on Jumeirah Beach Road. The restaurant officially reopened its doors a few weeks ago and we got the opportunity to visit the restaurant after its makeover to try out the new fusion menu. Channeling the fondness for food items from the Asian subcontinent, a lot of the food blends distinctly Emirati flavors with others from India, Pakistan and you can find interesting dishes on the menu such as the Achar (Pickle) Pasta and a variety of signature parathas among others. Moving on, here is everything we had at our recent visit:

The all new Local Bites on Jumeirah road has some interesting dishes with a fusion of Emirati and Indo / Pak cuisine. The place is pretty basic with a majlis feel, giving you an at home feeling the moment you walk in. The staff are helpful and kind too.<br/><br/>We called for a Jumeira Platter to start with. It is apparently a best seller and is typical Emirati breakfast with 2 Khameers, 2 Chebabs and a paratha served with date syrup and cream cheese. I love Khameer bread with date syrup and cheese as it is a perfect breakfast thing and is so good.<br/><br/>To drink we called for a Jumeirah Special we were told this was the best Cold Coffee as it had date syrup instead of sugar. This one was a bit different and tasted good. They also serve Locally made fizz drinks. We wanted to try the local fizz drink so we called for an orange and pomegranate Namlet juice. These folks get them from Abu Dhabi as they are scarcely available here. You might want to try them.<br/><br/>We called for a Salad platter, that had Cauliflower Taboul, Fattoush and Cauliflower fried rice. This platter was extremely unique something I have never tried before and tasted good too. It was fresh and flavourful.<br/><br/>We called for a Tikka Paratha from the parathas, a Jumeirah Khameer Sandwich and a Falafel Khameer Sandwich. The Khameer bread is made really well and any sandwich in it is a sure try. The Tikka paratha was really good with some great flavoured chicken filling in a paratha served with Oman Chips on the side. The Khameer Sandwiches also come with some flavoured fries that are just so good. Salty, tangy and flavourful, a real treat for the tastebuds.<br/><br/>We ended the meal with some Karak and Nutella Paratha. This one had nutella stuffed in it with fresh strawberries. A visit to Local Bites is sure incomplete without this one. It is a must try. They make really good Karak too.<br/><br/>Local Bites is a place you can unwind relax and enjoy some local food at a very reasonable price. I would sure suggest this place for some good Emirati breakfast.

The café was a popular hot spot until it was closed down for renovation earlier this year. The Emirati cafe, which first made its debut in 2013, has revamped its interiors with a contemporary Arabic mood, mixed with modern colours and patterns.  The much admired menu has also undergone a makeover with new delectable additions.

Food - Very Good <br/><br/>Pricing - Decent <br/><br/>Staff - Very Good <br/><br/>Ambience - Decent <br/><br/>Visited this place early evening , decent ambience , warmly welcomed by the staff . For the salads we decided to go for Salad Trio which was excellent in taste . <br/><br/>For the starters we had grilled halloumi which was really good along with pieces of falafel which was super crunchy from outside and soft from inside . Hommous and labneh was very fresh in taste . <br/><br/>For the main course we had the Khameer sandwich of Tikka & Falafel which was very good , Oman chips roll was lovely . Pizza paratha was also decent . <br/><br/>For the desserts , we had chebab , Nutella paratha & Lugaimat and all 3 of them where excellent when it comes to the taste . <br/><br/>Over all , Local Bites is a place to definetly visit especially for the Rolls & Desserts 👍

Went there to try it out yesterday. Ordered the jumairah platter and karak and both tasted great. The only comment that i have is that they should be more generous with the portions of cheese & egg on the balaleeth (which was only enough for one bite) <br/><br/>Overall recommended, will definatly be back again

I just heard about the change of management of this restaurant and decided to try the food. We ordered Mediterranean Pasta and Penne Pomodoro. We received the ordered in less than 30 mins. It was accompanied with cute looking garlic bread. :) the pasta was fresh and super yummy. The Mediterranean pasta was with pink sauce with grilled chicken. The Penne pomodoro was with the tangy tomato sauce and was tasting fresh n yummy as well. In short we enjoyed our meal and will order again.
