Celebrated my birthday here with a magnificent brunch. The atmosphere is completely unique. But somehow it’s still second to the food. Everything we ordered was both familiar and comforting but also new and exciting. Highly recommend. Honestly if I lived in DC I’d be here as much as I could.

A phenomenal take on the modern American restaurant that takes your favorite food and cocktails and turns it up to 11 in the super local manner that makes A Rake's Progress unique. The menu excelled at creating a distinctive time and place in which we were enjoying our meal, emphasizing the fruits of MD, VA, PA, and The District. The Line Hotel's shining gem is an unadulterated powerhouse, showing just how close some of the best food in the world can be. The Old Fashioned set the gold standard for old fashioneds I've had in my life, like sipping a distilled hearty hug with a loved one. The roasted vegetables in the Vegetarian Mille Feuille were perfection, and the house-made tagliatelle with local Baltimore canyon lobster was a singular experience. I truly cannot wait to return.

We had a great dining experience here. It’s located in the Line Hotel, a former church. The ambiance was nice and referenced the building’s history. There was a wide range of cocktails and drinks with local connections (one eight distillery, distillery lane ciderworks). The fresh apple cider (non-alcoholic) was the best drink in our group. We spilt a variety of dishes. The kabocha squash was a memorable dish with great grilled flavor. We had the steak and the rockfish as entrees and enjoyed both. We finished with a distillery lane pommeau (highly recommended)

An absolutely wonderful dining experience. Warm, relaxed yet elegant environment makes this a perfect place for special occasions. The expert chefs take simple ingredients (sourced locally) and brings out the divinity in each bite! All staff was also polite, knowledgeable and attentive. I can't afford to go there often, but will definitely be back.

Did not disappoint! I've eaten at Woodberry Kitchen so I had high hopes and it lived up to all the reviews I've read about it. Restaurant is located in an old church but surprisingly it feels intimate. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Food was spectacular and we enjoyed the rabbit pasta, johnny cake and lamb porchetta. We will be back!

Excellent brunch spot with locally sourced and sustainable ingredients! Deliciously prepared veggies. Beautiful atmosphere, and they allow doggies (just not on the furniture)! The burger was delicious, one of the best we’ve had in a while. The congee was not necessarily a congee but still good. The pancake is literally a cake in a pan - super yummy but sweet and almost dessert-like. Eggs benny also delish! Watermelon rosé mimosas = delightful!!!! Service on the slower side and they’re not great with menu change requests / substitutions but would recommend this place, and def would go back!

A great setting to hang with friends or coworkers. The lighting is dramatic when the sun hits the large church window. The crowd was chic and stylish but no real dress code. I was there for five hours with my cousins and we shut the place down. The cocktails - all made with locally sourced alcohol - were inventive, sophisticated and delicious. The service was very attentive, prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was also well done. A great place to hang out or start the night.

A great restaurant in DC. Everything we tried was great. The staff were a bit confused which delayed the wine and the food came long before the wine. But the chef then delivered an extra dish for free. Great ambiance, great food and fascinating wine and cocktails. A must

Such a lovely space to have brunch. It's elegant and low key at the same time. They have done a great job with the details. I loved receiving the amuse-bouche bellini. My cocktail was flavorful and not too sweet. Ember'd vegetables was a hearty vegetarian dish... it was slightly smokey. Loved it. Hangtown fry was protein heavy and a great contrast. We ended with the oatmeal souffle as dessert.

The service, ambiance, drinks, and food were on point. Upon entering, we were immediately transported to a different place, no longer feeling or looking like the traditional D.C. vibe. Our table wasn’t ready until an hour after our reservation, but we were quickly seated in the bar area and offered complimentary drinks and small bites while we waited- great service! We were a group of six and ordered four small plates (duck, duck grits was a standout), a salad, and three supper dishes (the smoked trout, rabbit, and pork). Outstanding! Will definitely be back and will recommend this place for a unique and great night out with friends.
