Jonnie Beans

As an out of towner just passing through Jonnie’s was a little hard to find (it’s a mixed use building, head straight to the basement). Also it popped up in my search for coffee shops so was expecting counter service, but turns out it’s a sit down place. Not a problem though, service was fast and they had a cozy little area probably best described as a reading nook where I sat and ate, food was good as was the service. Would recommend

So I would like to clarify that the first time I went to Johnny beans I had a great experience, the service was relatively quick and the food was good. However the second time I went it was the opposite, we were seated and waited about 15 minutes to get served beverages and proceeded to wait another hour until we got our food, even people who had arrived after us were served their beverages and food sooner than us who had been there much longer. We didn’t really get an explanation or an apology at the very least for the poor services. Will never be going back there.

Jonnie Beans looked like a unique eating establishment in a large brick building. We went for an early lunch, we received our beverages then proceeded to wait 1 hour after ordering, for our food. We watched as others arrived, ordered, ate & left by the time we finally ate. No apologies for the wait, either. BTW...the food was average. Won’t be back.

My daughter treated me to breakfast here yesterday and what a fantastic experience. Jodi (spelling?) was fun, witty, went above and beyond any waitress/manager I have experienced for a very, very long time. She made my grandson special shaped pancakes and promised him more surprises on our next visit. She is a great asset to the restaurant with a wonderful attitude. The Americana omelette was a good portion, came out piping hot and delicious.

Not sure what has happened here. We have always enjoyed coming here for breakfast. Today we waited for 15 mins to be seated. Only appeared to be 1 person to take orders, money and bus tables. We were patient and waited for her to check out at least 8 other customers. Once seated we ordered beverages and continued to wait. After sometime with no beverages and our food order not yet taken, we saw the server pick up a plastic bin in what appeared she was going to bus tables. At this point there was her and two other employees standing by the register talking. We decided rather than waste more time waiting we would leave. Got up and said goodbye to them. One of them said "sorry". We did not have a good experience the last time we were there but decided to give it another try as everyone has an off day. Sad, we always told others to go here as they had good service and food. Not so much anymore.
