This is a great classic Middle Eastern restaurant with some of the best veggie gallaba and best grape leaves I've ever had. The grape leaves are double wrapped!

Ordered chicken shawarma lunch special but the chicken was cold and the reason they said it was cold was that the steamer was not working. So they do not make your food fresh. No idea how old this chicken was. Hoping to not get food poisoning.
Not coming back here anytime soon.

This was my 1st lunch visit since the pandemic. I had called my order in ahead, shortly after they opened at 11am. I ordered 2 chicken shawarma’s and 2 small salads. Simple. He screwed that up. Only 1 salad made it into the bag. Had to go back in where the guy wanted to defend only one salad. Just fix it. I don’t want to debate? Again, I’m THE first customer in the door. That being said, if you thought my order was fresh and delicious, you’d be sadly mistaken. The chicken looked like it was left out at least a day or more as it was almost completely fossilized. I kept it long enough to snap these pics before tossing it in the trash. Even if it were free, I would not return. Ever. The service and the food was trash. Spend your money elsewhere.

Since 2018 Grape Leaves has long been one of my favorite eateries to treat myself when I need a quite down to earth place to go. If your having a bad or emotional day, Grape Leaves is a great place to get away and ground yourself with healthy earthy Mediterranean food. Its reasonably priced and I’ve been known to splurge. Their crushed Lentil soup is a must have its earthy well seasoned without being spicy but flavorful with the hint of citrus, their falafel is another favorite of mine! Well seasoned as to be expected from any Mediterranean eatery a few miles from Dearborn.

Have been a long time customer for over a decade. Foods have been always good, especially the fresh bread. Staffs have been good too, until today.
Ordered two big dinner entrees for lunch today at the Troy location. When I got there, as usual, I asked for a few more fresh ( warm ) pieces of bread. The waiter said he had already put a decent 9 to 10 pieces in the bag, which sounds good. To his credit, he did give me another 3 newly baked ones. But when I got home, I found out there were only 5 cold pieces of bread in the bag. If I didn't ask for the 3 additional ones, we would've ended up with no warm bread to go with the lunch.
Not sure if the waiter made the mistake about the bread intentionally or not, the service quality certainly was disappointing this time, not worthy a very decent tip to him.

I got the lamb sautee, was so good. I've been in the Detroit area for only a few weeks, been trying all sorts of restaurants. This was my favorite. Comes with a nice dark green salad and a side of hummus and rice. Perfect.

Used to be pretty good but they served me old microwaved/reheated shawarma evident by the gray/silver fish scales on the beef. They were pretty dead so maybe not preparing fresh food.
