Gold Leaf Restaurant

It's been a while since we've been here and we came for yumcha. The food comes out quite quick but some of the dishes were lukewarm and no longer crisp/overcooked. There wasn't a wide range of dumplings and we waited a while as we saw the food trolleys pass by a few times with the same food. The only one dumpling available was the har gow which was a bit overcooked before the desserts came out and did a few circles. Overall, the savoury dishes weren't that great but the desserts were good.

Service is okay but one of the guys (attached photo) is very good and helpful. Because of the trolley dim sum is slow today, we just tell him directly what we want, he go help us put in order and come out about 5-7mins. Maybe running out of staff, a lot yum cha not come out as fast as usual. Some of them told us, only one chef who work for certain of task( example fried dishes or steam dishes) overall the food still good as usual. Always our yum cha places ❤️

We were looking for somewhere to eat for the night after having a couple of bad experiences and remembered the old faithful Golden Leaf Chinese Restaurant after driving past the Springvale one. The food’s good quality with plenty of variety and fresh live cray, barra and crab to choose from if that takes your fancy, a good variety of drinks, it’s open till late. The service is professional and courteous, there’s not really anything to dislike about it, I’m going to have to keep it in what’s left of my memory bank. I’d happily recommend it.

i normally have yum cha on the weekends with family here but had it on a Monday. it doesn't get as chaotic as it does on the weekend but enough to fill half the restaurant (other part was blocked) which I didn't mind the change of scenery. food is always quality and service is as abrupt and fast paced as you would expect. staff are still courteous and helpful despite the rough accents and lack of smile. we/they don't fool around with food as that's what everyone is here for. I always come back for more.

Been there twice with my family. I've never seen a manager who is so rude and abrupt to the customers. He obviously needs lots of improvement in customer service. He seems v unhappy to see new customers and will turn customers away with his bad attitude. No patience when we ask a few questions and make people wait outside unattended for a long time. All staff who saw so many people lining up did nothing. No one approached the customers in queue or greeted us with a smile. Not a welcoming place at all. I rather go to Maxim where all the staff there are very friendly and helpful if you guys looking for good dim sum and extra service.

Went there for yum cha on weekend but was disappointed. Range of food was OK however was served a roast pork dish on the trolley which was very cold and stale. Finally on the bill was shocked to have been charged $30 for that 1 pork dish! The portion was extremely small and only had 5-6 slices of thin and cold pork. If this was a main dish off the menu, at least have the decency to inform the guest as most will think this is part of the yum cha menu when being served with the rest of the dishes on the trolley! Very sneaky and misleading which is more of tricking customers to purchase a more expensive dish during their yum cha sessions! Very disappointing!
