Egg Parlor

We stopped at this restaurant while passing through Illinois. We were hungry and wanted something good for breakfast. The restaurant is in a neighborhood, area was full of snow during that time. The ambience was nice and service was really fast. We ordered two omelettes with hash browns and pancakes. For beverages we chose regular coffee since there were no lattes, mocha or cappuccinos. The food was delicious, veggie omelette was unique in taste and hash browns were prepared differently not in typical way which made them even better. The only thing we found negative was the dirty coffee cups. Overall we liked the place and would love to visit again.

Delicious goodness! Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. I have zero regrets. Am still drooling writing this review! Will definitely be coming back. Prices are reasonably priced per dish and it's more than enough for one meal. We had left overs, but this depends on each person and how hungry they are. The monkey break is a very good snack, and is basically small crispy bites of cinnamon roll drizzled in caramel.

The food continues to be good. The service fluctuates based on who you get and if they have been there longer than a week. Our waitress today was nice and tried her best but had a huge lack of training that was evident. There seems to be zero management involvement which is more than likely why they can't keep staff. The restaurant had maybe 5 tables of customers and just as many if not more empty tables that sat dirty. Silverware was not rolled/given out prior to the table being served drinks. We used to love to come here but every time we go now it is lacking and leaves us wishing we had gone elsewhere.

The atmosphere and seating are great. Food was so close to being fantastic, just missing something. The pop was flat, the bacon was very obviously beyond overcooked and it still made it out to us. Toast was not buttered prior to coming out so when adding butter it wouldn't melt. Eggs were extremely undercooked. Overall I'd say it is worth trying as I think we may have just had a one off bad experience.

Great food, as always.... but the service today was very sub-par. After our server brought our meal out, we didn't get any follow-up from her. I sat here with my empty coffee up for nearly 25 minutes, before she finally comes over and asks if we need our bill. This happened with 3 more tables she was 'serving'. I'll be back, but hopefully have a better experience.
