Treat is a small business that sells authentic Belgian waffles and local ice creams. The waffles are small but are freshly made and tasty. The ice creams are available in 16 flavors on any given day, and different flavors are available on other days. For a midday snack (not a full meal), my husband and I each bought a waffle with ice creams. The owner spoke nicely to us and gave me a few samples to try. I enjoyed my black-raspberry ice cream, and my husband enjoyed his banana-custard ice cream.

We stopped in for our first time, they happened to be very busy with a group of 26 having just come in but the line moved quickly and when we got to the front the (I’m guessing owner?) scooping ice cream could not have been nicer! Kindly explaining the flavors and letting us sample, he also handed us each a bite of their Candy Cane flavor saying it had just come out, so kind! The ice cream was fantastic, definitely recommend the Pittsburgh flavor, it was amazing! We didn’t try a waffle but certainly will next time. The staff was incredibly kind it really cannot be over stressed. For great ice cream and an even better experience, come here!

This place is a Must Do! We were walking down the street in Shadyside, and happened to stumble across this fabulous ice cream and waffle shop! The owner let us try several of the unique flavors before we made our final choice. The waffles were warm and soft, with just the right sweetness, chopped into bite-size cubes. And the ice cream on top was fabulous! I had the mint chip, and the chocolate chips were whole! My husband was enjoying his ice cream so much, the owner offered him another scoop- who does that? I've had ice cream all over the world, and can honestly say that Treat is very special!
