Java N' Jive

Coffee was pretty good, we had some signature espressos and they are the reason for three stars vs two. Atmosphere and building were mediocre, the picture of Java and Jive make the place seem more fun and quaint than it is. Our server was very nice, although not very friendly and isn’t very great at the job. The rest of the staff weren’t very friendly either. Food was NOT great. Very greasy and plain. Wasn’t worth the money imo. We ended up only eating about half of it. Won’t likely be back nor would we recommend.

It was very difficult finding this place from the street. Didn't know it was located within poppos. When you walk in, it immediately gave a diner feel. We sat at the counter and they had a variety of expresso drinks and specials. Brooke was super sweet and attentive. The coffees she made us were good. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich that was average. PROS: Brooke was great! She gave us a punch card which with purchases you earn a free coffee. Price was inexpensive. Variety of specialty coffee drinks and big menu. Cute outdoor seating area. CONS: Difficult to see from street, counter needed wiping down, loud (not there fault) since it was busy. More of a diner feel- not coffee cafe. JUST FYI for your preference.

Ok I'm an espresso snob! I lived in Italy for five years so when I order a macchiato I expect a espresso with a little bit of frothed milk, not a cappuccino (I know I'm in the US and everything is bigger). Coffee was a little burnt tasting. I like the atmosphere and it wasn't undrinkable. I will be back!

Great coffee made to order with a nice coffee house atmosphere! I won't spend my money at Starbucks because their politics are Ungodly! My money will go here when I get the chance! This is a do not miss. (it's right beside Popi's and you can order from Popi's menu! A Family owned business on 8th Street in Palmetto, Florida!
