The food and service was impeccable. We had a combination of Vietnamese and Traditional local dishes. The portions were generous, the food was fresh, and even through and extras. I highly recommend you try this place, whether it’s eat-in or take-out. Recommend the smoked beef with bok choy as well as the shrimp stirfry. Unbelievable. Definitely recommend.

Well the google reviewers nailed it....really the best pho our family has ever tried.
The kids raved, the adults raved, such a good rich broth, sooo good.
I also tried the smoked meat bahn milk and that was really, really tasty. Overall the bahn mi is the 2nd best I have had. The slaw made every bite so satisfying. Pohua is a ways from Hilo but certainly worth a stop if you are driving by. One thing, they are ULTRA laid back and do things on their own schedule. Our 5 orders of pho took over 30 minutes to prepare so chill out and just check your order on the way out.

This is an amazing spot to come and escape the rain and get some good hot soup and coffee. Love the atmosphere. John and Ala are very friendly and hospitable. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone!

A&J's is a MUST VISIT! Amazing restaurant with great food and great owners in Ala and John (A & J). The vibe was comfortable and the food did not disappoint. The menu has Vietnamese and local favorites. I've had a lot of Pho in a lot of different places and this is BY FAR the best I've ever had. You'll have a bit of a wait as everything is made fresh, but it's absolutely worth it!

This is and Awesome Locally-owned family Business that will make you smile as soon as you taste their home cooked meals made with that secret ingredient of Love! Ala and John are some of the most friendly easy going people who know how to make food that will satisfy your stomach EVERY time. Don't even think twice if you should try this place or not, listen to your heart and go get some Local comfort food that will NOT regret after your done! God Bless A&J's Kitchen on their new endeavor and help keep them in business by stopping by EVERY time you're in the neighborhood, Or jus take a drive to eat some "Ono" local Grinds!

Eat here!! This place is a gem. Literally the best pho I’ve ever had. We had the vegetarian pho w steamed tofu and sooooo many vegetables. Plus, fresh spring rolls and house made sauce. If you’re sweet to the woman who owns it maybe she’ll give you a bundle of local bananas for the road.

Super nice owner. Clean and spacious dining area. Pho is excellent, really good broth, amount is enough to take leftovers. American menu and local plate lunches also available. Some items are $2-4 overpriced.

Friendly place! Great tasting veggie pho (one of the best ones I’ve tried). They have a few vegan and vegetarian friendly options. Generous portions and affordable prices.

Good food, but not always consistent on that. The portions and pricing could be better. I have to order 2 meals to get full. 2 is too much, but 1 is not enough. Typical meal is $11 without a drink. Brought my own beer.
