Lakeside Grill

I've been having breakfast here for 16 years and through a few different owner/managers. The food, and the coffee (a most important part of of breakfast) was very good. The new owner has changed the coffee from very good to "colored water ". The service and food is still good but what is breakfast without coffee? I have asked to speak with the owner to but he was not available.

Needed to add kudos for the lemon chicken soup, a particular favorite Greek dish. It was done to perfection! Slow or busy, best breakfast in Okeechobee, in my opinion. Eggs Benedict: fabulous. Breakfast Burrito: full of sausage, eggs and cheese. Coffee is very good too. If you aren't delighted, just politely tell the staff...they will make it right for you!

The coffee was atrocious. The food was bland--my son's BACON needed salt. And the service was not good at all. When we arrived, an employee was discussing which employees had called in late or no call no showed, and I could clearly hear this from my table, and I overheard staff in the kitchen making negative comments about my order. They appeared to be rushing us to eat, asking if we wanted boxes while my son was still actively eating. I had heard good things about this place, but it was a fully disappointing experience.

The food was good, the service was less than par. I work in the food industry and pride myself in giving great service to all my customers. Keeping their drinks full, without them asking and removing their plates when they are finished is essential. I will typically tip 50% of my bill for good service, I left Tiara a little more than 18%. Do better, regardless if you have a busser or not, keep the table clean, also seeing an empty glass and not offering a refill hurts your tip.

I've always enjoy lakeside in the past but, today was off. The food was warm, toast cold coffee was very weak. Service wasn't all that good, we told the server "we had just gotten done working all night". Our orders hadn't been taken until after other customers that came in after us were seated and their orders sent to the back. Sorry to complain we just won't go back.
