Been using silver fish for over 15 yrs. 1st in Welshpool and since they opened in newtown. A fantastic family business that goes above and beyond. Always fresh.. if you want anything freshly cooked as you wait they will do so... I always prefer the friendliness here too.

I nipped to this takeaway, having driven for 3hrs and checked into my accom before working a long shift the following day.
The lovely person serving me was patient with my order, advised of the cost, and the portion size was excellent given the cost (£6.05!!! I felt like I'd ripped them off!).
The food was lovely, didn't sit heavily and tasted excellent.
If I ever visit Newtown again, I would not hesitate in ordering from here again.

Main chippy in newtown now, park on the main street if you can. Fish was really good, freshly done so a little wait, but that's a positive

Perfect chips, and fish was large, really moist with a light batter. All cooked freshly to order.

We called here last Tuesday ,service was excellent , I had the battered sausage and small chips ,my partner had beef and onion pie & small chips ,they were well wrapped and very hot and the prices were very good ,we had the same meal from a chip shop in Machynlleth the week before ,but the sausage was very small and they were still more expensive than the Silver fish .
