I've given it 5 stars not because it's a five star hotel but because I love the place. Love that it's old. Places like this are constantly needing to be renovated and they seem to be in the process of repainting. It's very clean even down to the pot plants which seem to have new soil and wood chips. Floors, kitchen, toilets, rooms... All spotless which comes down to professional management and staff. They are very friendly as well which is what you want if your staying somewhere for awhile. The residents seem pretty polite and friendly too. There is also a niteclub here too so might see in the new year here tonight. Happy Daze.

Went here to try the rooftop bar, was pretty disappointed. Have to walk up 2 flights of narrow stairs to get too it. Drinks were overpriced and barstaff boasted being able to make the best cocktails in Mackay. Ordered a long Island iced tea, one of the worst I've ever had. Couldn't even finish it, it was that bad. Music was too loud so you had to basically yell to have a conversation. Caters to a younger crowd. Don't recommend.

The view is awesome it's the only rooftop bar in Mackay that overlooks the pioneer River and how beautiful it looks I'm full tide in the afternoon on the going down sun spectacular watching people in the river fishing from boats the service is second to none & words can not really describe and fast efficient service, come see for yourself just excellent
