You could quite easily walk past this place without knowing it was there but when you go in, it's HUGE inside. I loved it, like a maze inside, all different levels and a confessions box outside the toilets.

Amazing atmosphere, small menu but great food. Order at bar food service like a pub. Three beautiful staggered underground levels for a great atmosphere and plenty of help everywhere!

This pub is great and the atmosphere is really nice! I went there quickly to eat something and although my order was not as I requested, it was delicious. I hope to come back in the future during the night too! It might be fun!

An amazing pub, its vast, the attention to detail is incredible, it is on so many levels but all the rooms give it a sense of intimacy compared to open plan pubs.
Its central London so not the cheapest but well worth a visit...A great selection of quality draught beers too

Excellent bar with great atmosphere.
One of the biggest irish bar in the world.
The music is a bit too loud in the main bar where live concert takes place.
The bar closes at midnight like most of bar in London.

We tried to come here for a feed on Saturday night but it was so busy you couldn’t get a seat! We tried again on a Monday night and I’m glad we did because we had a fantastic meal. The Guinness pie was great.
The pub is deceivingly bigger than it looks from the outside as it mazes quiet a way back. The fit out is very cozy with so many small details to appreciate everywhere. The staff were also incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Super fun bar close to Leicester Square and just outside the gates of Chinatown. Beer selection was great, the decor was cool, the music was fun but best of all the clientele was warm. We had a great time chatting it up with strangers-turned-friends. Definitely recommend for a fun yet chill night out.

The décor as an old church it is pretty cool. Located super central, it is a great pub to stop for a pint, and they have live music most of the days. Be prepared for queuing in the weekend, but during the week very easy. I went on a Wednesday the last time, was pretty ok, just thought the music was too loud for the quantity of people inside.

What an amazingly crazy place! This place looks unassuming from the outside but is crazy once you get inside - the space goes on and on and on! Very large space with lots of nooks with different vibes. Can't speak for their food as we got drinks only. Their selection is as good as any other pub.
Overall super loud but very fun! Recommended to my friends to visit also and would recommend to others as well for an experience

Hands down the coolest bar we have ever been to! As soon as you walk through the front door you are mesmerized by the decor atmosphere. There is endless seating and the downstairs bar area is the true Irish experience. I ordered the fish and chips, which the fish was MASSIVE. Highly recommend you experience this bar while in London!

Fun bar with enough room to dance or sit down with friends for a pint. Love the live music with the Irish twist on all the songs. The bathrooms are big and the three levels provide plenty of room. The selection of the draft is okay but would prefer so international drinks.

Best Irish pub I’ve ever been too! Incredible layout, you keep going down and discovering yet another room, another bar or corner. Amazing party vibe on a Friday night with live music, good variety of beers and overall a fantastic experience!

This place .... what can I say !

My friend recommended it to me, and I will always love for him for that. It's huge, like you have to literally spend 15 minutes working through the turns and the rooms to explore this church turned pub. The collection of beers is reasonable. I only had my regular Guinness there. A little tough to find a table (on a Thursday evening), but try - it's going to be worth it.
There is live rock (at least on Thurs, Fri and Sat).
When I visited 'the hares' was playing. Besides being super talented and engaging, they are very handsome. :-) gave me an idea of the quality of bands that play here, excellent !!
Fun evening ...

Good (live) music, good drinks and very quiet corners to have a chat with your friends...great ambiance but ı believe it is mostly related with the decoration.

If you're ever playing tour guide in London then this is a place to wow your guests, with the added benefit of a Guinness for your troubles, rather than queues, rip off ticket prices and snapping tourists.
An unassuming doorway near to Leicester Square (important: for maximum effect take the back entrance) and a staircase descending into darkness, your tour party will look at you skeptically, particularly when you bet them a beer that the bar has a tree inside. But watch their sideways looks turn into wonderment as their eyes adjust to the darkness and they take in the vastness of the gothic catacombs that make up this subterranean crypt dedicated to Irish alcohol worship. Saunter to the downstairs bar, order the drinks, and casually point out the tree in the corner, and say those beloved words "your round, I believe?"

Popped into Waxy's some time ago for a couple of birthday beers for a friend's special day. We entered as a part of a pub crawl of sorts, so we only opted for a couple of drinks.

The atmosphere is certainly lively at this pub with clientele of varying ages and backgrounds . . . lots of young people but a few older folk that I imagine might be regulars. The music was fun and energetic, and the atmosphere is very cool, with multiple floors and lots of interesting woodwork. Kind of made me feel like being inside a giant hunting lodge.

I did find some of the bar staff a tad rude. I mentioned that it was my friend's birthday, and asked if they did Birthday shots (a pretty common thing in Canada). I was responded to with some exasperated grumble and that was that. The rest of the staff seemed friendly enough, so maybe they were just having a bad day.

All in all, the pub certainly has a unique atmosphere, a good selection of drinks, and giant, bumpin' crowd.

Waxy is the perfect location to start a long night of entertainment out, a hub to meet friends. It could also work for after work drinks in Central London

The characters here are just outstanding: the bartender and a few members of the staff could be the reasons you would want to revisit, so lovely and chatty based on your mood. the place looks like a labyrinth - 4 unique bars covering 6 different levels and they are somehow linked by staircases and passages. so you can literally drink your way through this Irish bar, considering the playlist is also quite catchy and will definitely brighten up your mood.

I did not try the food as we were heading for a birthday dining but the chaps around seemed to be quite happy with their plates. No need to compliment them on the drinks, they are an Irish pub but apart from their expected success on the beers and ales they are quite skillful in the cocktails section.

The decor and the space is not cluttered and arranged with narrow spaces, so you can relax here instead of trying to lining up for a small corner at many venues in the central.

There is something very endearing about this pub. It's not trendy, cool or chic but it's homely, traditional & it's got a huge old oak tree in the middle of it! This place is massive, the bar as you come up is pretty average sized but come down and it's a cavernous maze of rooms. The soundtrack is good, and they have a full range of Irish drinks, including a rarity in the UK - Murphys on tap!

Hi,
Seems that this pub is the oldest pub in London ... I do not know if this is true but against what I can say is that this place is a must to see!
It is huge, it is "crowded" it is beautiful... I went there on Thursday or early Friday evening to light the boiler ... it's part of life beyond fun! I recommend it without restraint ...

Very average pub food that's handy when you need a snack at the pub. But I love waxys for the atmosphere and pub experiance, especially if there is international rugby on. Great place to meet up to start an evening with the lads.
