Great, “upscale” Mexican. I usually never get enchiladas because they’re usually a hot mess of greasy cheese but the shrimp/crab were outstanding. The Maestro margarita also definitely worth it!

Took my mother there for her birthday. I had reserved a table for 4 people, on the day of. My mother had an unexpected visitor, so I gave them a call and they were able to accommodate us and were very understanding when I explained the situation. When we got there, we were seated right away, our waitress was very nice. The place is a little pricey but my family seemed to enjoy the atmosphere and the food. They were very happy when we left. Highly recommend.

Update- 5 years later: We visited Authentico on Cinco de Mayo with our teenage sons. We were seated within 20 mins and given menus. The menu features a wide variety of Mexican dishes, including tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. The tacos were made with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and the carne asada con mole was perfectly cooked. We also enjoyed the margaritas, which were made with fresh lime juice, mango, and tequila.
The atmosphere at Authentico is lively and fun. The restaurant is decorated with colorful Mexican decor and paintings, and the music is upbeat and festive. The service is friendly and attentive, and our server was great. One downside, prices are very high. $162 for a family of four with two cocktails. 😳
Overall, we had a great experience at Authentico. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Mexican meal, but be ready to spend a pretty penny.

As the name states, it’s authentic. Great food and atmosphere! Portions are good so encourage sharing. We felt rushed by our server although she was friendly. Recommend the Shrimp Diablo and Beef Burrito both of which we had. A must try if you haven’t been.

I will never understand why anyone wouldn’t give this restaurant five stars. The food quality is so high and everything is so fresh. I have never had more delicious, house-made guacamole or salsas (which are warm btw) anywhere else. The ambience is wonderful and clean and the service is absolutely top-notch. I have been here many times but I feel compelled to write this review after seeing that Authentico only has four stars on Google. This is an excellent restaurant and one of my favorite in the Northern suburbs. The margaritas are to die for and the pitchers of them are cheaper than anywhere else for the quality.

It was an OK experience and food was alright. I give this location a 4 as they brought me a cheese enchilada when I ordered one with crabmeat originally. My waitress noticed and got me the one I ordered but had to wait a bit. Also during the meal, I had to wait for my water glass to be refilled and even then I had to ask but I was already done with my meal. They do take reservations which was nice.

Food was absolutely delish! Had the Marco Polo Asado
I'm a frozen margarita girl but didn't want to pay extra $1 to get it Frozen so had it in the rocks was good, not bad at all. Dessert was coconut flan, amazing!!

I ordered the enchiladas pulled barbocoa...super good! I also requested the chef to make me a whole keylime pie. That was super super good. Will definitely go back. It was a nice distance from Chicago but worth every distance!
