Wish I went somewhere else. I came on a Tuesday morning and ordered an iced americano and a blueberry scone. They were very busy, took 20+ minutes to get my drink and food. I was most disappointed that the shots in my drink were burnt and my scone only had blueberries on top, I expected fruit throughout. The scone tasted like flour.

Ordered two, double shot lattes to go. As an espresso enthusiast it was immediately clear by grind time and extraction color/flow rate and time of extraction that a single shot was pulled for each. The milk froth looked pale as well. I noticed a gallon of skim milk sitting out next to the barista and asked if they had used that milk and if they had if they could please remake it to which the cashier (who didn’t pull the shots) quickly exclaimed that 2% is the default and that “for sure it’s not skim”. After one taste it was confirmed there was indeed an over extracted single shot in a skim milk latte. Gave the employees several opportunities along the way to change or even remake but ultimately they stood their ground and we ended up asking for a refund as the manager was unavailable. Not the place to go if you are wanting a thoughtfully created espresso based beverage with staff who want you to be satisfied as a customer.

My husband and I were craving some fresh squeezed orange juice like they have at Maude’s, but unfortunately they're closed on Sundays. We looked up the menu at Java and sure enough it says they have fresh squeezed orange juice! Jackpot! When we get there we see something like "fresh premium juices" on the menu but don't see a juicer front of house, so I ask, "Do you guys do fresh squeezed orange juice?" The guy tells me, "Yeah we can do that." I pay $10 for 2 glasses and watch him take out a 2 gallon container from the grocery store and pour our orange juice. I asked him, "Do you not have freshly squeezed orange juice? I asked you if you had freshly squeezed orange juice?" And he goes, "Oh no we don't do that." It wasn't a malicious mistake, and I'm sure he didn't hear me or something, but it feels really bad to feel like you got a bit scammed. If he had told us no we would have either left or just ordered something else. We would have just gotten the free oj at our hotel if we wanted something from a carton. Not a good experience.

Nice menu and nice staff. Was open Monday which was helpful. I know there are staff shortages so be patient with the staff that are there...they're working lots of hours! Our muffin and drinks were worth the wait. Look forward to trying the made to order breakfast next time. Also the signature drinks looked great I didn't notice until after I ordered so will try next time.
