Pollo Tropical

It's nothing special. The silverware and plates didn't look clean. If you are looking for a dinner option, I would go to Kroger down the street. There, get a rotisserie chicken, instant rice, canned beans, and a pack of Hawaiian rolls, and that'll be basically what I are here. The good thing about this place is the choice of sauces. Look around the neighborhood and you'll come across better options for eats.

The food here is absolutely amazing! The customer service is awesome and the restaurant is very colorful, uniquely designed. The food is something you wouldn't even expect from usual chicken restaurants, but this one stands out. The sauces are unique, I do recommend trying the pineapple sauce with your chicken! The sides are delicious as well. I do recommend going here for a quick bite with your family or takeout!

The staff do a good job of keeping the eating area clean and tidy; nice, new feeling since it hasn't been open for very long, comfortable setting to eat-in. However, the food is inconsistent and nothing special. The taste is never the same. Each time I've visited, the same dish tastes different. The food has either been undercooked or overcooked, and lacks flavor. I had high expecations since I'm a fan of Pollo Tropical in South Florida and have been eating it for years but I was sincerely let down after my visit to this location. Maybe they should get some kitchen training from South Florida staff. Willing to give it another chance but hopefully they fix these issues, so their customers return often!

I've been to several Pollo Tropicals, usually it's great service and great food, even this one at MacArthur. I went in 12/10/16. Most of the restaurant was dirty, we were there for 35 minutes and they only started cleaning as we left. It wasn't busy inside, They had a bucket of ice on the floor and a ladder by the drink machine, they never put the ice in the machine the entire time we were there. I can forgive all that, what I can't get over is that when my order was delivered (a two breast/ two side plate) was delivered, I didn't get two chicken breast, but 1 chicken breast cut into two pieces. My companion and I didn't get the rolls that came with our meals, we had to ask 3 times before we finally got them. When we did, the rolls weren't stale but it's as if they had been left out for a while. Sad thing is, I witness the employee retrieve it from the bag. Don't think I'll ever go to this one ever again.

I just got a drive through Pollo Tropical in Irving TX location. I wanted to order a family meal. The representative says she can give me a family meal without white rice because they are out of it. Or I have to pay $2.95 extra to get yellow rice. This is not fair. Plus I realized they did not give silverware when I checked after I came back! Poor customer service!

Last night I decided to try Pollo Tropical for the first time as it's conveniently by my house. Walking in, the atmosphere was great. Eric the cashier was very helpful and friendly. After ordering, we got samples of all the sauces and sat down (LOVED THE GARLIC AND THE PINEAPPLE RUM!) Food didn't take too long to come out. However, the manager seemed to be in such a rush she slammed the plates (one of the plates in the stack was dirty) and chicken down then tossed the silverware on the table and just walks off. Nothing said. OK- Maybe they have more going on in the back than I can see, bc there isn't many customers in at this time to seem to be in such a rush. We start eating and notice one of our thighs is stone cold. We let it be and just toss it to the side as we had plenty to eat without that piece and didn't want to make a deal about it. Around us, one gentleman is having to ask why his food to-go is taking so long. He was there before us and still waiting as we were eating. The manager then came out and approached the table behind us (a diff couple) advising they were out of white rice and she didn't want them waiting bc it would be 30 mins to make. They opted for a diff kind. Then another couple comes in for a replacement order to their food that was messed up. All while the manager is rushed and short with everyone so far. Towards the end of our meal as the manager is taking the substituted choice of rice to the couple behind us she walks by asking 'How is everything?' but continues walking. My 9 year old even pointed out 'Why does she ask a question and walk by before we answer?" The food was decent, the service was what was distasteful. As a manager your attempts should either be genuine or not at all. And to witness so many food fails- mine semi-one- I don't know if I'm willing to risk it again. Even with this location being as close as it is, I can't say I'd be in a hurry to come back.
