Windy City Grille

We are new to the area and drove here because we read good reviews about this place. We went for lunch. We throughly enjoyed our meal and our server was wonderful. The menu is large and eclectic....lots of different options and the prices were reasonable. My husband and I both enjoyed our choices.....he ordered chicken sliders and I had the "Al Capone" beef sandwich with fries. We will definitely go back and try other options. Our first time to Hernando was a good day!

Not very impressed, ordered loaded fries as a starter, wings, a burger and Portobello mushrooms. The loaded fries were good. Unfortunately the burger was a huge disappointment. I ordered it medium, it arrived well done with the outside quite charred. The burger was extremely dry, no sauce at all, if the meat was medium it would at least have been juicy. The burger was also deconstructed, with the onions, tomato, pickles and lettuce on the side. Don't mind building my own burger but it was disappointing from the start so it didn't really help. Presentation was also poor, it looked like everything was just dumped on the plate. After all the good things we had heard of Windy City Grille, I was not impressed. Perhaps they were having a bad day but that's never an excuse for serving bad food.

1st experience and I really loved it here. Wait staff was cool and eager to assist. Food was good and hot. Beer was nice and cold. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they didn't allow for customizing the sliders. I wanted to try all 4 actually in one order but the waitress was honest and let us know that customization was not allowed. I still enjoyed it and it seems like a really fun place for gatherings or date night. Highly recommend.
