The Railway Inn

First time in the railway and was a nicely presented pub, staff are friendly. Lovely seating area outside for the hot day. Drinks were spot on. However the food wasn't up to par. I had a Mixed grill, all the trimmings and a peppercorn sauce. Now the food was seasoned perfectly, but some of it was over cooked and the rest was mediocre. Steak was supposed to be medium rare instead was well done, chicken was dry, and the egg over cooked. Homemade chips were amazing. My partner enjoyed her food but said the coleslaw was just dry veg. Needed more mayonnaise. We will be back as it wasn't terrible and is very well priced for the food you do get. Everywhere deserves a second chance.

Met some friends, not been here for a while but was pleasantly surprised, staff were great, service was good and food was lovely, I am coeliac so need a gluten free diet,lots of options on the main menu, not sure about desserts as I didn't have one but had a quick glance at menu which didn't appear to have any GF options but I'm sure if I'd have asked there would be something available. The pub itself was very quiet. Had a great night, will definitely be returning. Just to note they had a great breakfast menu, also with GF options.

We took our 2 year old grandson for lunch. The atmosphere was good and the staff were excellent. The menu was similar to most pubs. We both had the steak and kidney pudding chips and mushy peas, our grandson the chicken nuggets chips and beans, from the child's menu. Everything tasted great, was cooked very well and great value for the price. We will definitely go back.
