This was such an amazing dinner! I had the best porterhouse I've ever eaten! The sides are insane as well. The green beans were seasoned with the perfect amount of dill. My kiddo was in love with the potatoes, and the bread was soft and lovely. My family and I will definitely eat there again! Fantastic evening!

Our friends who live in Chico brought us to dinner at their favorite place.
We immediately noticed that the people here were different.
While the food was absolutely great, the people here worked together as a seamless team and their personalities lit the place more than any lighting could.
They engaged with every customer in the restaurant more than we've ever seen. They made this an experience rather than just a dinner.
The owners have built an amazing team that is a testament to the staying power of this neat place.
So glad we were able to have this experience.

Fantastic food, not true basque culinary, but one of the best steaks I have had in recent memory.

The steak was great but the service was mediocre. The staff was constantly rushing us to finish and move on so that they could seat the next reservation. Poor planning on their part which made it feel like an olive garden. I definitely didn't get my moneys worth. I think its gone downhill for having such a historically upscale reputation.

Words alone can not express my incredible experience at Basque Norte. I actually encountered Matt the previous night in downtown Chico, who listened to my request of trying to find an amazing steak in town as I was visiting. He mentioned I should come here, the reviews were excellent, so I booked a last minute reservation and went. I found out today he was the chef here, and my god what a meal. Simply decadent. I am thankful and grateful for his recommendation, and this was one of the finest steaks Ive ever had in my life. Thank you, Matt.

This place is still wonderful best steak ever. Everyone that works there we're incredibly friendly and helpful. This is going to be my new to go place at least once or twice a month.
