WOW! Just got take out form Chiko for the first time and I'm a total convert. I ordered with mapo tofu with mushrooms and it was delicious! The right amount of spice, wonderful textures, and a huge portion.
Totally worth the price and may be a new go to for a hearty dinner!

Only had Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Source lunch takeout today. The food is of very good quality:
The white rice itself is probably the best I had in restaurant in years - it has the right texture and fragrant.
The bubble tea could use condensed milk or evaporated milk to improve the milky-ness. But could tell it uses quality ingredient. Will revisit.

An example of how NYC food is just the best ever - the most consistent, delicious take out option. Love the eggplant dish and it’s a staple in my rotation.

Best mapo tofu i ever had in my life. WOW. So fragrant, rich, and tasty.
This will be a repeat order for me.
Order spicy wontons and add to the mapo for an indulgent and mildly spicy dish.
You gotta try this place.
I don’t recommend the bubble tea though.

Wonderfully delicate as a cloud of tofu, I recommend it. Lots of flavor and spices. Strongly spicy dish, but tasty, although it may be too spicy for someone .........
Very fast and friendly service. I generally recommend this place to lovers of Chinese cuisine in a modern edition.

I’d hate to over-hype it, but this is probably my favorite restaurant in Greenpoint right now. Probably shouldn’t be surprised that a place that featured a highly-regarded omakase was able to carry over the talent, ingredient quality, and attention to detail over to normal take-out food. My girlfriend and I went two days in a row. Everything on the menu is a home run (even enjoyed the Mapo Tofu, and I usually avoid tofu like the plague). If someone told me this place was flirting with a Michelin star, I wouldn’t be shocked.

Great experience! Totally worth it. Modern open kitchen with plenty of space. The seating is limited to 10-12 chairs. The chef and the host were friendly and welcoming. Top notch quality of the fish and meat(wagyu). Service and presentation was excellent.

Creative take on omakase. Flavor explosion in your mouth. Fresh and high quality ingredients. Excellent service. Will be saving up to return for a special occasion.

Best Omakase in NY!
Came here for my birthday last night and had an incredible experience! They even remembered a candle on the dessert.
As a lover of Omakase, my boyfriend and I have dined in the basic BYOB places, and the instagram HYPE places- but nothing compares to the food and flavors at Chiko!
You can tell the Chef puts a lot of thought and care into developing the flavors for each dish. They were thoughtful, deep, and surprising, but not trying too hard.
Will definitely be returning!
