Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

Wonderful ice cream such delicious flavors, both workers were cheerful and delightful In suggesting flavors. Ended up with the chocolate fudge brownie and vanilla bean I was sold on it by the gentleman (wish I’d gotten his name) who said it was the best vanilla out there and he wasn’t wrong!! Creamy, smooth, and delicious. Definitely worth every penny I drifted to ice cream heaven!!

The ice cream is good, no questions about it. The place is small and cute. I visited it on a day big rain and flood hit NY, and as a result I was the only client in there. I placed an order for one scoop, but then decided to have one more. The girl at the counter already scooped the first one, so she put the second one in a separate cup. When I was about to pay, I noticed that I was charged for $13 with change. I asked the girl why, as 2 scoops supposed to be $8 with change. She replied that I ordered 2 scoops. And I pointed to the menu, where the prices are displayed. She said " The 2 scoops have to be in one cup. " Can you place them in the same cup?" , I replied. And so she did! Ta-da! Should not be that hard, should it? It was clear that I was there alone and both scoops were for me, so she should combine them without further instructions, I think. That's the only negative moment. The ice cream was good!

Tremendously grateful for an amazing service this past Sunday (5/21/2023) The staff was super welcoming joyful and hip. I was able to try a few new flavors of the season. I decide to try Planet Earth vegan ice cream which was super nostalgic for me and my fiancé. We shared a cup with that and strawberry shortcake. The flavors OMG 5 stars. Definitely coming back for a pint of Planet Earth. Thank you for the experience.

Their vegan ice cream is delicious. Recently tried the ice cream sandwich at their spot on Bergen St near Smith St and I can't believe I never tried it before that day. Unfortunately they don't have a vegan vanilla flavor but I don't think anyone will be disappointed by any of the available vegan choices. I highly recommend having the ice cream sandwich with cookies and cream caramel swirl 👍

Best ice-cream I've had in New York so far. Really nice atmosphere inside. Staff were friendly and had a good laugh with us. Menu is clear and well laid out featuring some amazing flavours to enjoy. Went for the wedding cake which had real lumps of sponge mixed through and cookies and cream which was delicious and creamy. Will definitely be returning again.
