Very enthusiastic and friendly staff, pleased to discuss dietary requirements (Lactose allergic).
Very helpful with helping Menu choices
I had the large Haddock - cooked to order - and chips, my Partner chose Chicken and chips.
Fish and chips scored 9/10, fresh, tasty and delicious!
Sadly the chicken was *very* overcooked. Had we had more time it would have been sent back, but we were already late for an event a long way out of area.

Hello from Germany,
just got back home from a lovely break in Cornwall. Knowing you from years ago and every year we're there, it's a must 2 stop 4 something 2 eat. Everything is fine, nothing 2 complain and always happy people doing their job. Thanx 4 making us welcome 👍😀

Fantastic gluten free fish and chips. Reasonable price. Eat in or takeaway available. Would be 5 star for atmosphere but music a tad loud. Would have been fine but person with me is hard of hearing and struggled to hear me.

Delicious fish and chips, batter was perfect very good service staff friendly and obliging. The price is very reasonable. Will be making regular visits to this lovely fish and chips restaurant 😋

I'm from Bodmin but kept reading about this chip shop on my Facebook. Tried it out for the first time tonight 30th July 2023. Arrived for a takeaway just before 8pm with no idea they were about to close. It's large, clean and tidy so a nice place to sit inside and eat. Even though they were closing the staff were so friendly and still cooked my order. The food was brilliant. The chips were not fatty, they were lively and dry, firm, golden and crispy. Not a floppy fatty chip in sight. Highly recommended. As a chilli fan I will be going back again to try the chilli loaded fries. Hopefully the chilli is just as good and nice and meaty. Last one I had from a chippy in bodmin was like chilli sauce and lacking any meat. Looking forward to coming back again.

Currently on holiday in the area and went with trip advisor recommendations for fish and chips. Two pieces of cod, a small sausage and a portion of XL chips was £22. Fish was lovely and flaky, the addition of a lemon wedge was appreciated. We thought we were ambitious (greedy) with ordering XL chips but between two adults and a small child it was just enough. Probably would visit again if in the area.

Good choice of variety of potatoes equalled really good chips. These were great.
Staff clearly love working there and it shows - cheerful, friendly, helpful and efficient.

Really enjoyed a Friday night fish ‘n chips treat from Welcome Stranger. The fish was fresh, really tasty and the chips were great. Will definitely be going back to also try their other interesting dishes on the menu

Had fish and chips a few days ago. wow what can I say the new owner is doing amazing keep up the good work. Nothing is cheap anymore so it was nice to get a good old takeaway. The oreo milkshakes are the best. Well done everyone definitely go back again. The service was excellent and all the staff seem really friendly.

That s lovely restaurant/takeaway catered our wedding in May this year. We asked for 75 portions of fish and chips to feed our guests local Cornish fair, and they did not let us down! Delivered on time and still hot, the food was delicious and our guests thought so too; lots of compliments 😋😊
