Ask Italian

The food was really good, The Calamari was really light on the batter and great taste. I then had king prawn and crayfish tagliatelle which was also very nice. Also had a pudding, the small platter of 3 options to share, I would say the brownie is extremely small, however the tiramisu and salted caramel Panna cotta was lovely. The service was good enough and the atmosphere was okay, wasn’t blown away per say but the quality of the food helped.

Really good food and very friendly staff. Really liked the free sample of still lemonade when we were shown to our table. Enough so that I ordered a proper glass. Gluten free options for pizza and pasta and the normal veggie offerings. I opted for the beef brisket pappardelle which was very good. The toilets could have been better. Looked a little old and tired, but functional.

I have visited this restaurant a few times now and generally its pretty good. The only thing that really lets it down is its staffing levels. Despite having a second floor of seating its rarely utilised and there always seems to be only a few waiting staff on despite being busy. Wait times can be a little long. we waited maybe 15 minutesfor our drinks after ordering. Waiting times between courses etc seemed to drag on a bit. Despite this the staff were really good, friendly and were by no means slacking. they just needed more waiting staff, this seems to be a regular occurence on my previous visits and have been often told there is a long wait for a table when the restaurant appears to have lots of tables. The food was pretty good, pizzas and pastas were tasty, hot and fresh. The deserts were delicious.

I was really impressed by the quality of the food. It was fresh and good taste. Most of all there was a lady there who had a back problem and you could tell she was trying so hard. She deserves a medal! People these days find any excuse but to work and she smiled laughed and always made sure the customers were happy even though she was in pain. I want to know who she is as she deserves good praise!

Was slightly worried about going to an Italian Restaurant Chain as I cook lots of Italian food as taught by my Calabrian mother-in-law. However, my rules for Italian restaurants are: never have Pizza or Pasta and it works. I had Calamari and asked for a small salad not on the menu to be prepared. My partner had salad from the menu. The Calamari was really good and I'm very fussy about same. Cooked differently to the way I do it, but not your usual onion ring type version which is usually horrendous. Salad was good. Wine was OK - not wonderful but good enough. The service was excellent and I'm wondering if ASK noted the quite bad reviews on here and had some training actioned. I follow the premise there are no bad staff only bad trainers. So 5 stars for the service - couldn't have been better. The atmosphere is to be expected in this sort of chain and not good for a romantic setting. So well done.

A fantastic new menu in today's post Covid shut period. Nduja and cheese dough balls for starter (enough for two) followed by Pollo Piccante Con Pancetta pizza - both a superb choice! Service was marvellous and friendly. The new era hygiene and table spacing was above my expectations. I think this restaurant has upped it's game and will tempt plenty of new and old customers. If you are in any doubt - get out into Badingstoke and ear out at Ask Italian.
