Got put off by Sal's as I had an experience at a different location where the base was burnt, but this was definitely a redemption. Was worried for abit as I didn't see any cheese shakers but found out they just store them behind the counter now. So if you go don't forget to ask 😁

My wife and I went there on last Sunday evening. This was our first time in Sal's.
I believe they serve the real pizza, very nice and tasty, real authentic.
If you want to enjoy the real pizza go to this place.

I was born in New York City and have lived there for 35 years. There is no other pizza in New Zealand, probably on this side of the world, that comes closer to NYC style texture and taste than Sal's. It reminds me of the corner shops in Brooklyn. Very nicely done!

Sal's is terrific to visit if you want to get away to a low-key, super chilled out and extremely delicious pizza place. Eating in is better as the mozzarella sticks and overly hot pizza is still fresh and stringy. They play soft, upbeat electronic styled music - strongly suggest this place if you adore pepperoni pizza and don't want a huge fuss for a date!
