12/16/23 They have done a wonderful job with the remodel. It is clean and fresh. I miss the dollar bills and the snake. Bar area is much bigger since their recovery. Food was good. But menu is more limited. We no longer saw heart of palm on the menu. Waitress was fantastic. The unsweetened iced tea tasted like dirty swamp water. What does dirty swamp water taste like you ask. Taste their tea and you will know! I had conch fritter which were good but the conch was tough. I also had the Shrimp po boy which was GREAT!

I thought they might have freshened up the decor. Food as always was excellent. No music as it was cold evening. Welcome back!

Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Nav-A-Gator Bar & Grill, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The standout dish for me was the Cowboy Burger – it was cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of flavors and textures. Additionally, the Pretzel Bits served with Beer Cheese Dip were simply sublime. The dip was creamy and flavorful, pairing perfectly with the crispy pretzels. The atmosphere of the place added to the enjoyment, making my dining experience there thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend Nav-A-Gator Bar & Grill for anyone looking for great food in a pleasant setting.

Update 2023-12-23: Closed due to damage by Hurricane Ian :-( Some say it will not reopen.

Nice, quaint little bar at the Peace River boat ramp. We used to go there a lot coming back from the river, but haven’t been there in about 5 years. Went there recently and the food prices had gone up quite a bit. Food is good though, and drinks are still quite affordable. Place is busy in Winter during snowbird season. Can recommend.

Fun atmosphere, good service and good food. Plenty of outdoor seating all under umbrellas. This is an extremely popular place, so there could be a wait. We had the red fish Reubens and they were excellent!

What a great place. Will start of by saying this is a five star restaurant, but when reviewing restaurants, I like to be honest with my reviews. The reason for my drop in star was due to fact that after carefully review the menu, I decided upon the Fried Gator Wrap (Lettuce, Tomato, Shredded Cheddar, and Homemade Remoudale Sauce) only to learn that they ran out of Gator and the menu item was not available. I get all that is going on in the current world and economy, however I was bummed not to be able to get my first menu pick. Needless to say, I picked something else and it was delicious. Will start from the beginning and say we got there by boat and navigated up the Peace River from Port Charlotte. The ride up was peaceful, and very scenic. We docked near the restaurant and opted for outdoor dinning and was seated quickly. Our drink order was placed and we were quickly served our drinks which included a cold beer which hit the spot. As I mentioned, my first chose was not available, so opted for the Shrimp Po Boy (Battered Shrimp, Cajun Remoulade, Lettuce, Tomato, and Served on a Butter Toasted Hoagie Roll) The sandwich was delicious and it came with fries and a pickle. Also ordered in our group was the Ultimate B.L.T. (Loaded with Bacon, Crisp Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Served on White or Rye Bread) and the Red Fish Snapper (Grilled, Blackened, or Beer Battered and Served on a Hoagie Roll)
While down in Florida visiting from up North, seafood was on my mind, but other non seafood items also looked tasty and would be something I'd order in the future for visits down the road. If you have a small boat, definetly worth visiting if you are close by. Will definitely be back again.

Our server was friendly and for the most part, attentive. She was however, distracted by a table near us who kept trying to make small talk with her anytime she walked by. The atmosphere would have been much more fun with some music, even if the music was being played through outside speakers. The gator bites were pretty good except I wish they had been a little more plump. A lot of them were kind of skinny with not a lot of meat. I had the shrimp Po'Boy which was pretty good but could have used a little more sauce. Jeff had the blackened Red Fish Sandwich and he said the fish had a good flavor but the sandwich didn't have any sauce which made it a little dry. He was forced to put tarter sauce on it to moisten it up a little. A missed opportunity on their part as it could have been a really great sandwich with a little special sauce. If it were available, I probably would give this place 3.5 stars instead of 4. We will probably return but I won't be in any rush.
